Yankees win World Series 4-2

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Mon Oct 26, 2009 4:00 am

Game 1: @ New York
Game 2: @ New York
Game 3: @ Philadelphia
Game 4: @ Philadelphia
Game 5: @ Philadelphia*
Game 6: @ New York*
Game 7: @ New York*

Phillies go for the repeat. Yankees go for their first WS title in 9 years (What a long streak, I feel bad for all Yankee fans).

Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well. Think the Yankees take game 1, 3, 5, and 6.

New York in 7. Should be a great series.

Bud Selig is crying in his bunker because there isn't a NY-LA WS.

This is going to be one of the better world series match ups this decade. I'm taking the Yanks in 7.

Well you did spend more than 80 million dollars over the Sox. So basically you spent the whole salary for the Brewers or Blue Jays this season over Boston. If we could combine the Sox and Brewers we'd be pretty damn good too. Seriously tho, at least the Yankees finally bought the right players. It was getting pretty pathetic to spend that much money to win nothing.

That's what happens when you have a great organization. You put the money you make right back into your organization to better your team. That's what the Yankees do, can't hold it against them that they're in the biggest market and benefit from this.

Yeah I have no real rooting interest in this series. I do think it will be a good series though.

Get over it..

Your team payed 51 mil just for the rights to talk to Matsuzaka. You gave 70 million to JD Drew. You gave Lugo 40 millions.

You look at your 5 top paid players and NONE are homegrown. so spare me the salary talk..unless you're tampa or minnesota you have no right to complain..

I think Boston fans should be complaining the least out of all other fanbases. You've been spoiled by the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and even Bruins this past decade. It's been 11 years since one of my favorite teams won a championship.

It's been 13 years for me.

Over the past five years the three teams in my state have made the playoffs a grand total of four times.

Your logic about the Celtics is pretty out there. I don't think Big Al, Jeff Green, Delonte West, and Ryan Gomes are nothing...but okay. I'm sorry our GM made good deals within the salary cap?

My point really wasn't about the Yankees spending more than anybody. I'm just still in shock that they've spent 1 billion dollars since 04 just on payroll. That just seems absurd to me. You at least have to admit that they've bought this title.

Anyways sorry for bringing up anything to do with money that of course would turn it into Yankees vs Sox. I just love arguments that turn into, well your team did this and that team did that. Good luck to a good series.

Yeah. Al is unquestionably one of the best big men in the league right now. And Jeff Green, Delonte and Ryan Gomes aren't slouches either.
VInny shut up about my bad yankees picks. :D Phils in 6. I've called Phils right. Rotation should be same as CS in my humble opinion for Phils.

First off, HCYanks, I'm swiping that haters pic as an avy. Funniest image I have seen in awhile. Thanks.

Second, I'm sick and tired of people saying how Boston fans have been spoiled. What the **** does that even mean? Ok, we had our time in the glory now we have to wait another 86 for a baseball championship, 40 for football, 20 for basketball and 40 for hockey.

If that's your logic, then yankees fans should not complain if they lose because they have 26, so they've been spoiled. And the phillies just got one, so if they lose, they take it with a smile on their face, they've been spoiled and it's time to share.

LOL just stfu with that sh*t already.

Now, good luck to the phils and yanks. If you win, don't let anybody try and take it away from you saying you've been spoiled.
