i like this! always nice when former hawkeyes make their way to the vikings

and this is a signal to me that the team thinks they might have a shot to make a run, which is encouraging (that's what i'm telling myself anyway)

plus i couldn't even name any tight ends we have after irv

Love it. He’s basically what they always hoped Irv would maybe turn out to be. TJ when he is used is a damn good TE. Plus he finally gives the Vikes a big target that knows how to run routes.

As long as the season doesnt fall apart, that 2nd this year is going to be a very late 2nd round pick. So the way Im seeing it is, Vikings basically gave up 2 3rds to get TJ and a 4th (I bet the conditions on the 2nd 4th are pretty strict). Plus TJ's option is picked up for next year.

I mean Im straight up over the moon on this one. We got a pro bowl TE (when he had a legit QB) who just turned 25 freaking years old. My god this was a HR trade.

Seems like a steal for Minnesota.

Especially when you consider that Chicago gave up a 2nd for Claypool. Seems like the Bears overpaid bigtime.

Win/Win for you guys.

That's a lot picks but the Vikings are in position to go all in so they are.

It's a good trade for both teams I think.

They basically swapped a 2nd & a 3rd for two 4th's. For a Pro Bowl caliber TE. That's a great trade.

The Lions basically handed him over to a division rival.

Yup. And you also gotta think about where those picks are going to be as well. Its a good chance that 2nd is going to be a very very late 2nd. While the Lions 4th is going to be a very very early 4th.

I think Tom Pelissero broke this down pretty good with his TV hit on this trade. The way the GMs chart out these draft pick valuations. Most likely positions of the picks and all that, it is essentially a 2nd for Hock. And sign me up for that!

Oh I see I read the trade wrong. I thought it was 4 mid round picks over 23 and 24 for TJ. That's why I viewed it as a "all in" move.

Yeah great trade for Vikes.

Hmm, we may finally have a challenger to the team who has everyone one their bandwagon. The Eagles

This could be huge for the Vikings if TJ can stay healthy.

I have Hockenson in 7 money leagues teams. I now have to root for the Vikings and depend on Cousins. Not a good feeling.
