He's missing Tyreek Hill. Kelce has been a shell of himself for a while now. Hopkins is barely hanging on himself. Along with poor tackle play. Not a great recipe.

All the Mahomes fan boys complaining that Mahomes doesn't have WR or help and making excuses for Mahomes goes to show why he is not the GOAT.

Brady got stats and rings with and without Moss. Montana got stats and rings with and without Rice.

If Mahomes can't win another Super Bowl then I would but Aikman and Manning ahead of Mahomes.

Mahomes won the Super Bowl last year without a bigtime WR and he made the Super Bowl this year. These criticisms are getting ahead of themselves. Neither Brady or Montana won an MVP before 30. Aikman never won an MVP or was an All-Pro, I'm not sure how he's even in the discussion.

You'd take half the QBs in the league over Joe Burrow, so a pretty irrelevant insight lol

Yes, Derek Carr... You tell me which one is Carr and which one is Mahomes, I'll wait.

QB A: 3,928 yards - 26 TD 11 INT - 67.5 completion %

QB B: 3,878 yards - 25 TD 8 INT - 68.4 completion % Image

You can pull the same **** with Brady in his last 2 seasons in NE. If you give him poor help, you don't get big numbers. Which is why everyone said he was washed until he went to TB and won the SB putting up big numbers when he had actual weapons around him again.

Brady had a few mediocre seasons post Moss that didn't result in a SB.

Mahomes last year won a SB without a 1000 yard receiver.

Let's also not forget that he absolutely owns Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson head to head every single time they play each other in the playoffs. Say what you want about his RS play, but he wrecks their **** come playoff time.

LOL at Manning ahead of Mahomes. Because he was so great in the playoffs.

You're comparing a 42 year old Tom Brady to a 29 year old 'trick Mahomes? That tells me all i need to know.

Mahomes had a bad season, idc if he went to 7 straight AFC title games, doesn't change his year looked like Derek Carr.

Mahomes has four 1,000 yard receivers so not sure what other "weapons" ya wanna give him.

How about you compare 29 year old Brady to 29 year old Mahomes? This is kind of absurd.

Randy Moss has actually never won a Super Bowl. I think that actually gives more credit to Brady though because he still managed to get 7 rings in his career and none of those came during the years he played with one of the best WRs ever.

Brady won with Gronk and without Gronk

I thought you used “WR” for a reason.

Here is the issue with giving QBs as much credit as people usually do. Don’t get me wrong, It’s the most important position in all of team sports, but they still get too much credit for wins and losses.

The last two seasons, KC hasnt been one of the best two teams in the league both years because of Mahomes. It’s because they’ve had an elite defense in the playoffs and then you’ve got Reid and Mahomes making timely plays. But if they had just an average defendse, they don’t win the Super Bowl last year and aren’t in it this season.

To me there are 4 QBs that elevate their team more so than any other players.

Burrows
Allen
Mahomes
Jackson

Those are the 4 guys where if their team doesn’t win, I don’t think you can make an argument where a different QB could’ve made a difference. Those 4 maximize their teams. But they still need a legit team around them to win it all.

I don’t think Mahomes is regressing, this is just what happens in the NFL. Salary caps tend to catch up and you have to start making cuts. The Chiefs have been slowly making cuts to their offense and now they just don’t have that many weapons. But I have no doubt if they get weapons again, Mahomes goes right back to putting up huge numbers.

Amen! Wins and losses are not a qb stat!!!

This NBA-ification of NFL discourse is ridiculous

What's happening is, because they don't have great receiving talent but do have a great defense, Mahomes is playing more of a game manager role, like Brady did in years he didn't have top receiving threats but great defenses. Look at the difference between Brady in 2006 when his top receiver was Reche Caldwell to 2007 when they got Moss and Welker. And that's Brady at the same age Mahomes is now

It's just that when you do that, your margin of error becomes much slimmer. He played a bad game, but he's still Mahomes until he isn't.

The first red flag was that he couldn't beat out Alex Smith as a rookie. Smith was a serviceable, solid QB. But transcendent QBs should be able to beat out Smith any time.

The reality is that Andy Reid has gotten the most out of above average QB talent than anyone else. McNabb, Vick, and Smith all had their best years with Andy. He's getting the most out of Mahomes, but Mahomes probably isn't as good as he's been had he not landed with the Chiefs.

I don't think he's anywhere near a prime Aaron Rodgers.
