I thought it was universally accepted that he was a bad coach, I didn’t know he had such a fan club, lol. Heck, from the reactions online I thought even a large portion of the Cowboys fan base didn’t think much of him.

Which I think is totally possible. Russ had his best years under Schotty as his OC (2018-20). Hell, even Mark Sanchez looked somewhat decent with Schotty as his playcaller.

He's always had a solid run game. Which will benefit Dak. I expect him to have a very good year.

MVP Dak is back!

Schotty jr? lol this is the type of hot take that makes you think Bryce Young was the best qb in his class

Well, I wasn't alone with that take. Not really a hot take.

Yeah, I'm not suggesting playoff success given his track record. But I do think Dak will have a bounce back year.

Brian is too much like his father when it comes to Marty ball.

Even though he choked in playoffs I liked his dad, poor man's daddy Shanahan with his running schemes.

Dude can play but also can’t stay healthy. The best ability is availability.

Yeah, the last thing Dallas needs is another diva personality who also struggles to stay on the field.

Damn, parents raising their kids to be NFL players need to make them into WRs. Usually the fastest kids play RB and then they bulk up to play RB in college and the NFL if they make it.

Better to work on ball catching and route running skills.

Difference in earning power is now so vast.

I’m kind of mixed on this. On one hand, you can make the argument he’s been the best defensive player in the league over the last 5 years.

On the other hand, he’s going to be 31 this year. The amount of D lineman who are super impactful after 30 is just super rare. And even then, it’s not like we see a ton of D lineman 34-36 tearing it up.

If I’m the Steelers, at most I’m giving him a 1 year extension. His current deal is up after this year, that might be the best time to part ways with TJ. Unless TJ is willing to work on a super team friendly deal (like my boy Harrison Smith has been doing the last few years).

Now with that said, if the plan for the Steelers is to not sign him long term again. Trade him. There is no doubt a GM out there willing to give up legit value for Watt.
