Javon Walker Found Unconscious in Vegas

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker reportedly was the victim of a robbery early Monday.

Walker, 29, was found unconscious at an intersection near the famed Las Vegas Strip, having sustained "significant injuries," Las Vegas police spokesman Bill Cassell said.

According to KVVU-TV, Walker is listed in fair condition at Sunrise Medical Center with a fractured orbital.

Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Norm Clarke wrote that Walker partied Saturday night at Tryst, a popular casino in the Wynn, "spraying the crowd with some of the 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne he ordered. Also at the club: UFC fighter Wanderlei Silva and former NBA standout Charles Oakley [who played for the Toronto Raptors]. Walker later moved over to Drai's After Hours."

Walker has spent the past six years playing pro football, making 252 catches for 3,815 yards and 30 touchdowns in 72 NFL games.

Drafted 20th overall by Green Bay in 2002, he played four seasons with the Packers before being traded to the Denver Broncos for a second-round draft pick on April 29, 2006.

Walker was limited by a right knee injury to eight games last season, finishing with 26 receptions worth 287 yards.

It is not the first time Walker has become embroiled in a violent situation off the field. Not long after an alleged altercation involving several people at a Denver nightclub on New Year's Day 2007, Walker was sitting in a limousine when shots were fired into the vehicle, killing Broncos teammate Darrent Williams.

He signed a six-year, $55-million US contract with Oakland on March 4.

Hope he comes out of this alright, and able to play again. This is also tough on the Raiders after spending $55 mil. on him ($16 up front).

I hate to put it this way, but I would have hoped he would have learned his lesson after Darrent. But he was apparently at some clubs spraying champagne on people before this, the exact same thing that started the fight that led to the shower of bullets that hit that the Limo last year's new years eve.

I heard from a former Bronco teammate of his today. Here's the jist of what he told me:

Walker is a mental midget who lives for the moment. The word "impulsive" came up a lot.

He heard Walker's eye socket was broken and it's 50/50 he ever gets his vision back in that eye. There was talk that Walker also fractured his hand and might have hurt his wrist as well.

This Bronco was almost physically ill that Walker would do such a thing knowing that's how Darrent died. It's the exact same thing that led to that tragedy, down to the amount of $$ he sprayed across the room. If Walker ever gets back on the field there is a huge line of Broncos who want to destroy him for disrespecting the memory of Darrent Williams with such reckless regard.

Walker was not going to be missed in the locker room even before this, and they were very glad he went to a division rival so he could "screw them up". The words "pussy" and "selfish" came up often, many times together.

The Raiders don't need anyone's help in screwing themselves up.

BTW - I've heard that Javon is supposed to make a full recovery but might not play in any preseason games. This coming from a guy who habitually talks with some longtime Raiders..

The last time the Raiders were this tightlipped about a situation, it was the Barrett Robbins fiasco. I cant remember what they tried to sell the public on, but the guy did coke, and took a hooker towards Mexico. Wasn't back in time for the game and was still on one when he got back to the hotel.

Anyhow, that makes me think there's a lot more to this story that isn't being let out... Walker hasn't played one snap for us and I'm already sick of him.

Did any of you hear Javon's story? I don't think i have laughed harder in my entire life. Talk about the biggest load of BS ever.

"I was just back at my room and at about 5:30 in the morning I got a knock at the door. I opened it and three guys with guns were there. They cracked me in the head a few times, knocking me unconscious. They then robbed me of everything I had; my watch, money, everything! Somehow they got me to a car and dropped me off in the street. That’s what happened."

Yeah somehow they got him from his VIP suite in the Bellagio all the way down to the street, and into their car. With out anyone seeing. Sounds plausible. I mean why wouldn't they take him with them? Would be easy to sneak a millionaire wide receiver past everyone in one of the nicest hotels in the country.

From the packers board.
I agee with Raggae something doesn't seem right. Is there any more news on this?
