They still suck, but good for Pennington.

I don't know - Miami's offense could be quite efficient with this pickup. Say what you want about Pennington's arm strength, but he doesn't turn it over, he's very accurate, and he is a very smart player. Give him those two running backs and that offensive line and I think Miami's going to be able to control the clock better than people think.

Their defense is going to be the real question mark. Had they hung onto Taylor I'd feel much better about it, but with JT in Washington and Jason Ferguson, Joey Porter, and Vonnie Holliday as the two veteran leaders, I just don't think they'll be that good.

So to me, it depends on how long Pennington can keep his offense on the field, whether or not they can punch it in the endzone a few times, and whether or not their defense can be anything but the worst in the league.

If I'm not mistaken, Pennington has the highest completion percentage of all time as of right now? He won't kill anyone down field, but they can definitely control the clock and punch it in, and maybe Ginn will turn a few short slants into touchdowns.

So Beck is gone next week as per Icness, any teams showing interest? I would like the Saints to take a look at least.

I always knew he was the odd man out. Hope the Fins can actually trade him rather than having to outright release him. Maybe get a 3rd or 4th for the guy and move on...

The more I thought about the signing, the more I thought, "Maybe the Dolphins won't be half bad." Its not as if Chadwick will have anyone to go deep to, other than Ginn, so the concerns over his arm strength won't be too big. The Phins have a good running game which, barring injury to Brown or Ricky, can stand up to the best of 'em.

I don't think they'll set the world on fire, but they may have a great shot at 5-6 wins, which will be a great testament as to how well Tuna and Ireland have been managing that trainwreck of a franchise.

Good signing for both sides, the Dolphins are now much better at QB and this gives them time to develop Chad Henne. Good move for Pennington cause now he gets to face the Jets twice a year which I am sure he really wanted.

If Chad doesnt end up being a starter in Miami then he will deff be a good teacher for the younger guys that are new to the whole NFL

meh, I've always found Pennington to be severely overrated..even when people acknowledge his weak arm and injuries, they still manage to overrate the guy..

Not a big Pennington fan, but he is an upgrade over what they got.

Great contract for Chad, 11 M for 2 years. I dont know if hes going to be able to utilize Ginn, though.

I thought he'd be a better fit in a West Coast offense where he could get away with never having to throw it far downfield and be rewarded for his ability to recognize coverages and make quick decisions. I guess there aren't any teams that use that system and are looking for a starter, so Pennington went where the opportunity is. (The money ain't bad either.)

This is a decent pickup for a transitional team like Miami. I mean they certainly aren't worse after this. They'll still get romped though, I've personally got them pegged for 3 wins Pennington or no Pennington they'll continue to struggle mightily...they key for them this year is not how much lose but the manner in which you lose, and that division they play in ain't no cakewalk anymore, it was bad last year but IMO the Bills and the Jets will be alot tougher this year.

Good signing by the Dolphins. Even though he cant throw the deep ball.
