I had thought he retired. This is a good signing by Baltimore, though. He adds a lot of much needed veteran leadership on the offensive side of the ball, and should do a great job helping protect Willis and (hopefully) Flacco.

You didn't see Jacob Hester truck Kevin Burnett and Bobby Carpenter last week?

The crazy thing is Hester doesn't look that big, but safeties just bounce off the guy. Fullbacks are a different breed, and Hester seems to have the right attitude to play that position. The fact that in just one game his hitting seems to have translated to the NFL is pretty encouraging.

As a Chargers fan I'll miss Neal. Great team guy and a community guy. He's all class. A true professional. He's past his prime but still solid. He can get you those tough 3rd-and-2 type yards or goal line carries. The blocking fullbacks are a dying breed but he just may be the best there ever was.

Don't get me wrong, I love Lorenzo Neal. But I don't understand why the Ravens picked him up. They already have Leron McClain and they were looking hard at guys with better hands out of the backfield at the H-Back/FB spot.

at first i didn't agree with letting neal go, but he had finished his cycle with the chargers and it was time to rejuvenate that position. plus what JellosJigglin said.

but it's a good sign by the ravens.
