If you believe quitting is the right thing to do then that's on you. It's selfish no matter how you want to cut it. Young obviously doesn't feel that way though according to the reports. Good for him.

What about Mike Vick?

What about him? He's the biggest idiot of all.

Nobody thought Favre was being an ass. I'm talking about when he retired, not when he wanted to come back. What about when Strahan retired. He had one year left on his contract. Did you feel the same way about him?

Did they suddenly retire during the season? I still believe you should finish what you signed up for, but those are two different situations.

They're still not finishing what they signed up for. I'm guessing you'd feel the same way about Young had he retired in the offseason.

There's a huge difference between Young and a player who has had a Hall of Fame career on one team for ~15 years and announces their retirement in the off season or earlier. Now you're just arguing to argue.

It's absolutely disgusting that what he talked about with his therapist has become public. I guess Sean Connery was right, The Rapist.

When he's on, he has the talent to make an impact with the likes of Brady and Manning.

Um. No.

Did you not see the 2006 Rose Bowl game? 480 Yards of Total Offense against the best defense in the Nation, by himself.

If he can translate that into production in the NFL, then yes, he can make an impact with the likes of Brady and Manning.

How can you ignore his physical talents?

The party that is wrong in this is the titans fans, Vince might not be the best QB of all time but he wins games for a sub-par team and he still gets booed. Thats definitly selfish by the titans fans they had the lead and the fans still boo. Maybe if some of them knew anything about football they would realize the only stat that matters is the W.

You were saying Young would be wrong to retire because he made a commitment to the team to play. I named two guys who made the same commitment and gave up. If I wanted to spend the time I could probably find hundreds of guys who retired while they still had years left on their contract. The difference is that Vince Young is 25 and you think that he should want to play football.

Vince would look decent as a passer if he had any type of targets as receivers.....

3rd year guy that is a dangerous runner and a decent passer with plenty of room for growth... I'd take that.

Young has just as much of a right to retire as Favre and Strahan did.
