NO- I agree..I always find it stupid when people make excuses for blown calls that cost teams games..San Diego didn't stop Denver, but they shouldn't have had to anyways..it was obviously a matter of the Chargers getting screwed..

with that being said, Hochuli getting suspended would be ridiculous..losing points in the NFL's ref system is enough IMO..it's not as if other refs in other sports haven't made major mistakes in the past..while there's no defending it, at least it was just a matter of human mistake, and not rigging games like Tim Donaghy..at least it was only the 2nd game of the season, and not a playoff game..now if the Chargers miss the playoffs by 1 game, THEN we can start talking about it a little deeper..
