DeSean Jackson, enough said

Post#1 » by Mr Awesome » Wed Sep 17, 2008 8:27 pm

If you didn't watch Monday Night Football this past week, not only did you miss out on a great game but you missed out on this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPo4vKoPd8Y. Funny thing about it is that ESPN showed a video of him doing pretty much the same thing in high school. I felt it deserved it's own thread.
Im pretty freakin awesome........

I just got my lights on, and I saw it on youtube. Man that was a stupid play. I think the Eagles should fine him for that play so he will not do that again. Just imagine if the game was on the line.

vaff's post is brilliant, doesn't matter where you got that from

Desean Jackson's ego is freaking legendary. At the Combine he was conducting interviews in the 3rd person, talking stuff like "This Jackson guy, man you should see how quick that boy is" and "Don't nobody can cover that Desean Jackson stud from Cal-town". Needless to say he turned several teams off with that, but thus far he's backed it up.

Someone from Cal might be able to verify it, but there are rumors he onc espent an entire practice trying to coordinate the WRs into a group celebration, and he was like some mad choreographer, everything had to be perfect. I'd pay to see that.

 Outside of that one bone-head play, everything said about him so far seems to be positive. The coaches have commented on his hard work in practice, apparently he even asks the veteran corner backs for advice. And in every game he's played so far with the Eagles(2 regular season, 3 pre-season) he's played well and has made plays. But you can tell the coaches and the veterans on the team are trying to keep his ego in check.

I'm a hardcore Eagles fan, and over the summer I told my friend who likes the Rams, but isn't exactly a huge football fan, that DeSean jackson would be a "story" in the NFL this season. Two games in he's already making headlines, both good and more notably bad. He's already pretty much a household name among NFL fans.

I've heard much the same, that Jackson got the message and has matured as a person. Outside of his durability, every negative I had on Jackson was related to maturity and personality. I always like it when a talented knucklehead gets it, a la Kellen Winslow. Jackson sure is fun to watch and I haven't heard near as much BS about the Eagles needing WR help lately.

Yea, Jackson seems damn good so far. He definity has a lot of talent, but this was hilarious. As much as I like Jackson, I love when guys celebrate before they should and get screwed because of it. I just can't help myself.

As an Eagles Fan I still have my concerns about size and ego. But what he is doing now and especially under Reid who has notoriously been hard on Rookie WR. Not bad at all

With more games like last night Jackson is going to quickly become one of the most talked about and exciting players in the league. He's kind of like Devin Hester, a big play waiting to happen for either team.
