Helmet to Helmet on Boldin

It's hard to see at first, but stick around for the replays.

I was at this game, the whole stadium could hear the pop from the hit. It was gut wrenching.

Reports say that Smith is being fined $50,000 and being suspended for one game. I'm not sure I agree with the suspension. The hit didn't seem cheap or intentional. It just seemed like an accident. That, having been said, what's with the play calling here? Arizona was already down by 3 scores and it was the end of the 4th quarter. Why take the chance of throwing long and over the middle to one your best recievers? Why not just take a couple knees and end the game?

Thoughts on any of this?

BTW, I know this was talked about a little bit in the week 4 thread.
Im pretty freakin awesome........

I watched the whole second half and it was very entertaining. They were practically stat padding. I think that shot to the end zone was nothing more, and you can never predict hits like that. He had the TD before he got hit.

Boldin is a tough SOB though, and i am glad to hear hes alright. Neither team that game was trying to give up. Both teams wnated more points. The jets threw the ball, went for 2, when they had comfortable leads.

The hit was unneeded, but I don't think Smith was trying to hurt him either. However, I really don't have a problem with the fine or the suspension. He hit him in the helmet when Boldin was in a defenseless position.

Broken Sinus (not too serious). He had surgery and is out week 5, but should play week 6. Not bad really considering the hit.

yeah, I was real comfortable with that 34-0 lead until the team started to collapse.

The thing that isn't being talked about is the coach crying for a flag on the play with his player unconscious.

Shouldn't the coach want a flag for that hit?
