vs.
Marlins (9-10)

Featuring

Mark Redman
Coming off his strongest start of the season, Redman will be looking to avenge what was his worst start of the year. After allowing the Marlins seven earned runs in 2 2/3 innings on April 13, the 32-year-old left-hander came back to limit the Cubs to three runs in 7 1/3 innings on Thursday. Using a lower arm slot and showing more aggressiveness on the inner part of the plate, he consistently located his fastball and cutter.
vs.

Rick Vanden Hurk
The rookie had a rough outing in his previous start, giving up eight runs in four innings in a loss to the Mets. Despite the runs allowed, Vanden Hurk struck out six. A native of the Netherlands, the right-hander has a sweeping breaking ball to go along with a 93-mph fastball. He got into trouble against New York when he fell behind in counts, leading to him throwing 92 pitches.
