Coach of the Year?

Post#1 » by Lane1974 » Mon Dec 22, 2008 2:31 am

reasonable guesses to be the top vote getters:

Jeff Fisher (TEN)
Mike Smith (ATL)
John Harbaugh (BAL)
Tony Sparano (MIA)
Bill Bellichek (NE)

Lane? Long time no see.

Tony Sparano deserves it far and away more than anyone, but if he misses the playoffs he definitely won't get it, sadly. I think Jeff Fisher sealed it with the win today.

I would give some consideration to Dungy
Started off 3-4 all the critics said he was slipping but he kept his team together and led them to another playoff birth

This will be the closest vote yet.

You have 1 dominating coach with Jeff Fisher.
You have 3 coaches who had a poor team last year, and a new QB this year, two of which are rookies. Sparano, Harbaugh, Smith.
You have 1 coach who lost the reigning MVP and still achieved a ten win season. Another who lost his star Defensive End and acheived the first seed in the NFC. BB, Coughlin.

Damn, tough choices.

Fisher all the way, but the rookie coaches have made great cases.

I agree the Dungy deserves serious consideration, but it goes to Fisher.

I'll give it to Tony Sparono. He literally turned the Dolphins from bad to playoff team in only one year. You can say the same for Mike Smith also.

Sporano & Fisher have my votes.

But, the homer in me is going to say Sporano.

Jeff Fisher has been the best coach in the league for a while now...he was snubbed a few years ago too. It'll prolly go to Sparano though.

I understand that many of you want to give Sparano credit after Miami only won one game last season. However, Vegas had the Falcons over/under 4.5 wins this year, and Miami was over/under 6.5. Miami was expected to play much better. The AFC is a difficult division, but I believe the NFC South is even more difficult, and it always comes down to the last game of the season.

It's well deserved if Tony Sparano, Mike Smith or even Jeff Fisher win.
