I don't know how much robbery it was in that deal.
So the Falcons traded Schaub and thier first round pick (10) to the Texans for the 8th pick and a second round pick for that season. And an additional second round pick.
So two second round picks and moving up two spots in the draft for a pretty good QB.
So the actual deal.
Atlanta Gets:
Jamal Anderson
Justin Blalock
Traded that second round pick to Washington (Washington traded picks 21,84 and 154 for (Atlanta 34, 48, 103)
Houston Gets:
Matt Schaub
Amobi Okoye
Now if I'm the Pats I want a first round pick and I don't want to move the one I already have. One deal that could possibly work would be with Detroit. Send Cassel to the Lions for the Cowboys first round pick (20 plus the Lions third round pick). A lot depends of course who the Lions would take at number 1. Now lets look at this more, Schaub was 25 years old and starting a whopping 2 NFL Games. He also had 6 TD's and 6 INT's. Cassel is 26 years old, started 15 games/played in 16 of them. His team went 11-5 he threw 21 TD's and 11 INT's.

Matt Cassel should get New England a first round pick.
I didn't mind the Matt Schaub trade at the time because it was clear Vick was the starter (ha). I'm not sure, but I believe Atlanta wanted to move up during the draft, so they can have a better shot at Adrian Peterson, or possibly LaRon Landry. I know I was wanting the two of them and my next choice would have been Amobi Okoye. Rick McKay completed blew the pick with Jamaal Anderson and I remember being pretty upset about the selection.
