Falcons trying to trade Vick

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Sat Feb 14, 2009 1:14 am

The Falcons are seeking to trade the rights to imprisoned and suspended quarterback Michael Vick. Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said the team is preparing to trade Vick’s contractual rights in an interview that appeared on the team’s website on Friday. “With regards to Michael Vick, we’ve decided to seek a trade of his contractual rights to another NFL club,” Dimitroff told the website. “We took a number of steps in the 2008 season, including using our first pick to draft a quarterback. We feel a trade is the best move for the Falcons, and it’s also in the best interest of Michael.

It's like trying to sell a pig at the synagogue.
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

Good luck that Falcons. I don't see how they can move him with his salary.

Right, because his salary is the biggest sticking point in this whole situation. If anything, I think Vick and his people will be smart enough to re-negotiate when he gets out, which will make his departure from Atlanta 100 times easier.

With his current contract, there is no way someone will trade for Vick.

Raiders will trade for him, renegotiate with him , and then cut him 8 games into the season.

Oh, that happened already.

I think the Falcons would be best off just cutting ties with him. This seems like it could make Stephon Marbury VS the New York Knicks look like a picnic.

Every team knows that the desire for Vick is not high so a trade most likely will not happen. I think some team will only try to add him if he gets cut.
