The Browns reportedly asked for a second- and fifth-round pick and receiver Steve Smith, but the Giants declined. New York countered by offering the two draft picks and receiver Domenik Hixon for Edwards.

The only reason Giants want to Braylon Edwards is because Steve Smith sucks.

I am still a big fan of Ole Banana Hands, even after the abortion of a season he had last year.

I am hoping the Eagles will step in and try to snag him without overpaying.

Wonder why Lakeshow thinks Steve Smith is this good. Btw, the Jaguars have Chauncey Washington and Thomas Williams who are about to become pro-bowlers this coming season now that Fred Taylor and Mike Peterson are gone and they can finally see the playing time they deserve :rolleyes:

what is the deal with the HATRED! dude won the superbowl! dude is clutched onto by the giants, because they know HIS ULTIMATE VALUE! steve smith for braylon edwards?!?!?! NO FREAKIN WAY said the giants front office!! why would you ask?

because steve smith is better than braylon edwards.

I think that if it was straight up Edwards for Smith the Giants would agree. But the picks and their 2nd(?) best reciever isn't worth it I guess.

So what are your arguments in favor of Smith being better than Edwards? If you asked everybody on this forum who they would prefer on their team at receiver the majority(except for homers like you) would pick Edwards. I know I would. I am not saying Steve Smith is a bad receiver, I am a big fan of Steve Smith and recognize he is most likely the Giants best receiver now that Plax is gone, it is just that I do not agree he is better than Edwards.

and how much are you getting paid for your opinion?

the individuals who get paid are willing to release everyone and anything for edwards. EXCEPT FOR STEVE SMITH. that means there is a price to pay, but the price and amount for a steve smith, is worth its weight in gold, and the giants dont want to give up the gold.
