LAKESHOW just reminded me how badly Reggie Bush had fallen off. Will this guy even be in the league in 3 years?
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

Now you go and make me stand up for Lakeshow

Reggie Bush might not be a great running back in the traditional sense, but he is a guy who fundamentally changes how the defense approaches the offense. If you want to pound him 20 times a game between the tackles he'll be terrible, but the way Sean Payton uses him makes Bush a very effective weapon. He's very much like Eric Metcalf, who was a pretty good player--not great, but pretty good--for a long time on a lot of good teams. His versatility and speed are outstanding. Oh yeah, he made a great power run up the gut last week too. I hate when people say Reggie Bush is a bust because it's simply not true. Just because he isn't conventional doesn't mean he's not good. It's the same thing as calling Dallas Clark a crappy tight end because he never lines up tight and he's not a very good blocker, or calling Leonard Little a lousy defensive end because he doesn't stop the run, or even try that often to do so. There's more to the overall picture than that.

oh brother, the SHOW is imparting knowledge. like . . . how important it is for a running game to win the title . . .

like . .. how pass happy offenses have in-season value only, but during the playoffs not so much . . . .

like . . . how Tom bradys last trip to the superbowl is one of many examples that you dont pass your way to a title . . .

and then we get an individual such as this out of nowhere opening up the big bottle of HATERade. out of nowhere. unprovoked. just out of the blue Bush hatred.

Dont hate, just love. Dont be a hater, be a contratulator. be a participator. be a compassionator.

Yeah, for a number two pick Eric Metcalf is not that great, especially for a guy who makes that much money and was advertised as a Sanders/Faulk hybrid.

Running game is important. That's why Mike Bell is getting most of the carries.

That's why they got undrafted Mike Bell carrying the load. And that's why undrafted Pierre Thomas carried the load last year.

Funny how whenever they use him with the power package(the FB, and the extra tackle) he cracks off a huge run, and runs his numbers up.

We should throw out all the draw and reverse crap, he loses like 5 yards every time we run that ****. Just throw in all the big bodies and let them handle the big guys, and let Reggie worry about beating LBs and DBs. Philly understands that with Westbrook, Tennessee understands it with Chris Johnson. Smaller guys, get them to the second level with your big uglies, then let them beat the back 7, stop trying to outsmart everyone with trick plays.

Passing game usage is ok I guess, we still aren't utilizing him as a downfield threat. If we sent him downfield enough, they'd have to take a linebacker off of the field to match up.

The Marshall Faulk comparison is funny, especially how people throw that out there, since Marshall's first 5 years, when he was in Indy, he only averaged 3.8 yards a carry, and everyone said he couldn't run it between the tackles.

Faulk was 1000 yrd featured back even in Indy.

He was healthy and getting the touches, doesn't mean he wasn't still struggling. The year he played hurt (like almost all of Reggie'sat some point) he averaged like 3 yards a carry.

The point was, he wasn't blowing anything away until he got behind a monstrous O-line.

...and now Peyton Manning is on pace for the best yardage season ever. Something like 5300 yards, and he's doing it without his #2 WR.

Collie and Garcon have both looked very good for the Colts. But I agree so far a very impressive season for Peyton.
