Manning claims fourth MVP in landslide

NEW YORK -- Maybe the award should be renamed Most Valuable Peyton.

Peyton Manning became the first player to win The Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player honor four times. The Indianapolis Colts' sensational quarterback romped to the award Saturday in balloting by 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the league.

He received 39½ votes to 7½ for Drew Brees of New Orleans. Only four players -- all quarterbacks -- earned votes. The other two were Philip Rivers of San Diego (2) and Brett Favre of Minnesota (1).

Manning also won in 2003, 2004 and 2008, breaking a tie with Favre at three MVPs.

Best. QB. Ever.

Could very well be best football player ever. Congrats Peyton, you deserved this one more than any other you won.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Yeah, he's making a great case for best ever. If he has a great post-season and seals the deal with another Super Bowls, he'll be my #1 among Super Bowl-era quarterbacks.

As much as I respect him, I'm not ready to call him the best ever. As a Texans fan, I've seen him pad his stats in 41-10 games.
I'm sorry I haven't been funny. I am not a comedian. I am Lenny Bruce.

while i would definitely place him high on the list, possibly top 2 or 3, the SHOW definitely believes that a kid out of california named JOHN ELWAY is thee greatest quarterback of all time.

elways abilities and skills make him SUPERIOR to anyone who has ever played the game. but peyton is close, extremely close to elway. and that is due to his powerful command/recognition of defenses. the GOD GIVEN ability is elways. he also had built the recognition over years of experience, his gun was second to none. and similarly, peyton is single best "student" of the game. but in arm strength, accuracy, athletic ability, running capabilities and speed . . . those things go to elway.

I'm going to toot my horn and say that I predicted a huge year from Peyton and Indy, when everyone was doubting. I believe you were also firmly on the wagon.

Peyton is already the greatest QB of all time, and I'd take him if I had the choice of handpicking any player.
