Well you can't argue with that. Tom Brady has jumped the shark. Philip Rivers is a fluke. And, Aaron Rodgers is just trying too hard to do what Favre did.

Well he's certainly an improvement on Tavaris Jackson. So let's all hope and pray for his ankle.

Tavaris Jackson? The guy that couldn't hold Rosenfels' jock strap?

Totally overrated with the record for Most Touchdowns ever by a QB, in NFL History

He also holds the record for most interceptions thrown in NFL history... no biggie.

Ehh. That's like faulting Moyer for having the record in baseball for having the most homeruns hit off of him. If you've "accomplished" something like that, it means you're doing something DAMN right.

As for Favre, Am I the only one who really wants him to come back? As much as I dislike the offseason waiting game, seeing him on Sundays makes it all worth it. Whether you love or hate him you tune in when he's playing no matter what. There is no other QB in the league that has a hold on us like Favre, period.

We've heard it from the horse's mouth twice and it hasn't happened. What would make you believe him the third time?

Favre is really overrated? I guess that depends on how high he is being rated. I'd say he's a top 5 QB all-time. Not sure what he needs to do to legitmize his legacy with some of you. I said he was top 5, even before he joined the Vikings and I HATE the Packers. 3 time MVP, Superbowl champ, holds nearly every significant QB longevity record, and the ultimate ironman.

If you say he's top 5 then he's overrated in my book.

Favre is definitely top 5 imo. Elway is the overrated one. 56.9% completion and isn't even top 40 all time in QB rating. You won't find anybody else being talked about as a top 5 QB w/ horrible numbers like that. If Elway is a hall of famer and top 5 QB then Boomer Esiason is too because they have the same numbers. Only difference is Elway got to ride Terrell Davis for a couple of send off Super Bowls and Elway's precious 4th quarter comebacks, maybe the most meaningless accolade imaginable.

Has Favre had season that would make him top 5 of course. The problem is all those other years in his career.

Reason I wouldn't have Favre in top 5.

1- Post Season Record- Early success has made him a winner. Despite loss to underdog Broncos.
2. Horrible Turnover Records- Led the league in ints 3 times, 15+ in all but four seasons.
3. Passer Rating- Well below the likes of Montana, Young, Manning, Brady etc
4. Poor Seasons- He's had a few just awful seasons. None of the elite QB's have seen the same.
5. Never lead the league in passing yards per game, passing yards per attempt, or per completion.

I would have Brett somewhere in the 8-10 range for QB's.

He's about 5th since 1980, behind Montana, Young, Manning and Brady. It's tough to compare before then, since QB's just didn't put up the same type of efficiency numbers before the WCO.

That is a good point worm. I don't know where to put somebody like Unitas or Starr.

I don't have a problem with someone putting Favre at 5, I just don't agree with it. I do however have to admit I would have a very tough time putting a top 10 in order. Evenif I was just going to go 1980 and on.

Post 1980 top 10 QB's( in no order)....mind you I'm sure I'm going to miss someone.

Montana
Young
Aikman
Manning
Brady
Elway
Favre
Marino
Moon
Warner

Guys just missing out: Fouts, Kelly, as far as peak good I'd put Cunningham on the just missed out as well.

Pretty much any team would take him - even now - so that has to show he is a pretty decent player. Overrated or not he has put on some good numbers for 19 seasons whilst taking on passes that most would duck out of. I'd take him in Philadelphia in a heartbeat.

Not bad money this year apparantly: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2010/08/paper-vikings-to-sweeten-brett-favres-contract-to-as-much-as-20-million/1
