AFC East

Post#1 » by MiamiNative0722 » Wed Aug 4, 2010 10:28 pm

In this new offseason, the AFC East has become one of the strongest divisions in the league

Patriots added Tory Holt

Jets added Santonio Holmes, Jason Taylor, and Ledanian Tomlinson
they are having problems with Derelle Revis however

Dolphins added Brandon Marshall and Karlos Dansby

All three teams have solid draft picks that are possible starters

my personal opinion of how the season rankings will end is

1.Dolphins
2. Jets
3. Patriots
4. Bills

Dolphins might have not gotten passed the jets and patriots last year, but they won both games against the Jets and one vs the patriots, i think their additions were huge because wide receiver and linebacker were their biggest weaknesses, their draft picks of Jared Odrick and Koa Misi will only make their lines stronger and younger, i see them taking the AFC East

I think this division is between the Pats and Jets. I'm just not a huge fan of that Dolphins team.

everyone is talking about the jets because they made it through wild card and then made it to AFC championship, truth is AFC east is one of the toughest divisions in the league so if u make it out of that division you have a good shot at making it far in the playoffs,

but the jets were terrible last year in division games, they couldnt handle the pats or dolphins at all, and both dolphins and pats have only improved since then(especially upgrade from Tedd Ginn to Brandon Marshall  )

last year jets played many easy teams like oakland cleveland detroit st louis, its not that easy for them this year, sure they play a couple of those but they play alot of tough teams too,

if they dont have a dominant division record, i dont think theyre gunna make it

I think itll be between Pats and Dolphins

I think the Jets are horribly overrated, yet also quite talented.

I think Miami can win if the defensive front 7 step up, but I'm not sold they will.

I have New England as the favorite but losing Ty Warren really hurts.

Buffalo sucks.

^^ one thing about the dolphins defense that i expect to have a big year is the secondary, chris clemons and vontae davis i expect to have career years

one thing that i hope is solid is the defensive line, its totally new because of the losses of ferguson porter and taylor, odrick and Dansby are pretty solid but i hope they can hold off top notch running backs

When Tom Brady is healthy New England makes the playoffs. I have them grabbing a WC spot behind the Jets who'll win the division. I think Miami will be the best team to miss the playoffs. I always liked Karlos when he was here i hope he does well with the Phins (ecspecially for the amount of $ they gave him).

People forget that the Jets only got in the playoffs last year because the Colts rested their players and the Bengals really didn't have much either to play for in Week 17.

I personally like the Dolphins over the Jets this year as a Pats fan. With the Pats of course thrown somewhere (presumably the top ;))

It's between Miami and New England IMO and I say Miami. The Jets are so overrated.

I think if Sanchez avoids the sophomore slump, it's the Jets division to lose. They're defense is great but their offense better improve if they want to do anything.

The Patriots are getting up there in age and have no pass rush, which is kinda sorta important in a pass-driven league. But a healthy Brady and Moss should prove lethal again.

The Dolphins, IMO, are overrated. They get a troublesome WR who is extremely talented but known to have nagging injuries throughout the year. Henne is still unproven in my eyes but definitely has potential. Their running game and defense are both extremely solid though. They won't win the division but they'll be in the playoffs.

Now that the Jets beat down the Pats and the Fish, are they still overrated? If so, what does that say about the teams that got whupped?? Hmmmm.

I picked the Jets because their defense is outstanding. Last year they were #1 in total D. This year (though they've given up large chunks of yardage) they've limited their opponets points-wise. With a healthy Revis on Marshall that game isn't as close last week. Whether you love em or hate em, they're the favorites in the East if their offense doesn't completely meltdown. Santonio Holmes will help big time IMO.

Every year people pick against the pats and every year they find a way to win the division. Why aren't they the favorite until unseated.

That being said the Jets beat the Pats at home like they are supposed to. They did beat Miami in Miami, big win.

Game that will provide a little more clarity is New England in Miami.

Hopefully Belichick coaches up that defense by the end of the year. They look pretty abysmal now.
