Is it an overreaction to say that Suh is the best DT in the game?
It used to be Haynesworth..but who is better right now?

He is certainly in the conversation. I think Ngata and Wilfork are probably better but Suh plays a different scheme.

I'll say this for Suh: He is the best rookie defensive player I've seen in a long time regardless of position. I've never seen a guy with such brute power--he lifted Shaun O'Hara off the ground a couple of times in the Giants game. I mean how often do you see a DT physically lift the center off the ground with his bull rush?!?
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

I like Ngata and Wilfork, but did not really consider 3-4 DT's as you say, its hard to compare the two due to the different schemes. Apples and Oranges esque imo.

I was going to say the same thing, I cannot remember (and you have been watching football more than me) being so impressed with a rookie. or a Rookie being considered one of the best in his positions after 7 games?
Probably Joe Thomas and AP in the offensive side? and probably Moss?

Sean Taylor was a terror for opposing offenses his rookie year. Had never seen a defensive rookie intimidate opposing skill players like he did.

Suh played an amazing game yesterday. Casey Rabach totally sucks and has been getting dominated for years but what Suh was did to him wasn't even fair.

^^^
I am sorry.
Sean Taylor as good as he was the year he died (I felt that was the first year he actually became an all round S).
There is no way you can say Sean Taylor was as good as Suh is now. His covering skills was below average to say the least in his first few seasons.

Suh is the biggest freak in the league. I thought Bradford and Suh were the two best prospect in the last 5 years at least, but how well they are both doing is surprising even me.

Josh Freeman is freaking awesome too. I thought he was a terrible pick when he got drafted in the first round and he is proving me wrong in a big way.

Just for the record the Browns had the 5th pick in the 2009 draft. They were desperate for playmakers and although the team had a 3rd year Brady Quinn they were hesitant to make him their starter and looked at possibilities of trading him. We just traded Winslow and were desperate for offensive playmakers and defensive playmakers.

With the 5th pick we traded down to 17. Sanchez was picked there and Freeman was drafted at 17th, both stud quarterbacks who would have turned Cleveland around. We traded down from 17 to 19. Maclin was picked 19th. We are desperate for receivers. Then we traded from 19th to 21st. We picked a **** center. A **** center. One of the least important positions on the field. The next players taken were Harvin, Oher, Clay Matthews, and Vontae Davis. 4 players who play much more important positions that were of more demand than an interior lineman for the team.

UGH. And all of the players we drafted with the extra picks we got for trading down are off the team. We turned the 5th pick into an above average center. FML.
