The Chiefs played the whole game with pretty much all of their starters. Cassel went out because his shoulder got crushed by Howard Green's fatness. The Packers played most of the game with their 3rd and 4th stringers and they beat the Chiefs 20-19.

The 4th preseason game is freaking pointless. I didn't watch one second of any of the games and I will not draw any conclusions from them at all. 90% of the games were played by guys who will be lucky to see the field once the regular season starts.

Lots of cuts coming today and tomorrow, when all teams have to be down to 53. Let the fun begin!

Tell that to Todd Haley.

I think it can be useful if you use it to do something constructive, like study the fringe players. Problem is that most teams don't make good use of this time. Take the Lions for example, very early in the game Jerome Harrison ripped a really long run and his job probably wasn't in question prior to that point and no way they cut him after he makes that play. He should have been done for the day and the team should only play the RBs that they don't know for sure what they have before they decide who to cut. But instead, Harrision ended up getting a ton more touches in that game and it rendered that test time useless. The Lions are going to cut some RBs that could have had an opportunity to show what they can do. And they did that at other positions as well. And that's how every team seems to do it. I felt like I got nothing out of watching this 4th game compared to the rest, but if only the bubble players played then I think it would have been fun and interesting to watch.

Jamaal Jackson might not make Philly
Bryant McFadden could be out in PIT
I don't think Joe McKnight will make the Jets
Steve Slaton looks out in Houston
Tashard Choice

but the biggest name will be Ocho Cinco. I do think Haynesworth sticks though.

I wonder what Denver will do with Tebow too.

That'd be shocking. I highly doubt it.

Ocho Cinco is their only healthy wide receiver besides Branch (who's not someone to rely on when it comes to being healthy) and Matthew Slater (a special teamer).

Brandon Meriweather with the axe, very interesting. Pat fans always seemed split on him, big plays with missed tackles. Id love him on the Jets that's for sure.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

Preseason Games Thread

It was shockingly expected? If that makes any sense. Patriots fans kind of knew if a shock was coming, it wasn't going to be haynesworth, it wasn't going to be ochocinco, it would be meriweather. Sucks for a couple reasons. He's been a favorite of mine even though he's driven me crazy at times. It leave us super thin at safety. Also, we couldn't get anything in a trade for him? Even Taylor mays brought back something.
