Bruce looks like a Von Miller clone

:-?

looks like Bucksfans1and2 wins the dumbest post of the thread.

Except that Bruce Irvin lacks pretty much everything that makes Von Miller a great player. They both have great speed off the edge, and that's where the similarities stop.

They're body types are totally different, Von Miller doesn't play run defense on roller skates, Von Miller has a legitimate power game. Von Miller has a plethora of pass rushing moves. Von Miller is more than potential in coverage.

If one similar trait and similar height and weight comparison is the only similarity that needs to be made, than Ersan Ilyasova is a Dirk Nowitzki clone. Alex Smith is an Aaron Rodgers clone and Prince Fielder is a CC Sabathia clone.

If you were to say that Bruce Irvin is a homeless man's Von Miller, I would agree with that statement. There's a reason that Von Miller was picked where he was picked. He's a freak and one of the best pass rushers to come out in a long time. Bruce Irvin is a one dimensional speed rusher with a river of red off the field.

They're not clones. Von Miller comes off the board 3rd in this draft.

Ersan Ilyasova - 6'10, 235lbs
Dirk Nowitzki - 7'1, 245lbs

Alex Smith - 6'2, 225lbs
Aaron Rodgers - 6'4, 215lbs

Prince Fielder - 5'11, 280lbs
CC Sabathia - 6'6, 290lbs

....... what the hell are you talking about. this is just a really dumb post :-?

First of all, those were way off the top of my head.

Aaron Rodgers measured in at 6'2. Alex Smith was 6'4. Both were within 3 pounds of 220 pounds. There's not a huge difference.

I also notice that that's the only part you talk about. Are you seriously telling me that you think Bruce Irvin is half the pass rusher or run defender that Von Miller is??

I don't have any strong feelings towards Irving, but apparently you do.

your argument is just really really bad

calling Prince Fielder and Sabathia clones is just so stupid.

BTW: sorry i accidentally flipped the two, Rogers is 6'2, 225lbs, Smith is 6'4, 215lbs

The main point of the post was that Irvin is not Von Miller. You're right that I could've chosen better examples.

The guy that the Cowboys traded two picks for (Claiborne) won't be ready for training camp because of an injury.

I had Irvin and Wagner in my top 5 of best defensive players

Bruce looks like a Aldon Smith or Von Miller clone and Wagner will be the next Chad Brown, or Jessie Tuggle, a boring LB, but who will get 100 tackles every year that he starts.

i wanted my Falcons to get one of the two, Irvin or Wagner with their first pick, but Seattle did an amazing job in getting both of them.

the Von Miller reference is a good comparison. Irvin reminds me of Lawrence Taylor, now remember, i'm NOT saying that Irvin is LT, but he REMINDS me of LT, because just like LT, when i watch Irvin, he looks like he is fast and doesn't care about his own personal safety. Irvin just looks like he plays dangerously reckless when he is going after the QB which was what LT was know for.

you forgot about Russell Wilson. he is a great pick up in the middle round. he is a good project QB. he is undersized, but good arm, good feet, high IQ, great vision. he threw 3,500 yards at 70% last year, 33TDs, 4INTs, so the numbers are jaw dropping impressive. Wilson reminds me of Jeff Garcia

Seahawks fans should be excited because the team just got 3 very interesting players. Seattle drafted some gambles, but i would still give them an -A

good call on Bruce Irvin and Russell Wilson. Irvin is a beast and Wilson didn't have a great game, but he looks like a legit starting QB in the NFL. Wagner is no slouch himself

Irvin does look like he is in the same mold as Von Miller or Freeney or Suggs, undersized but super fast and unblockable. his pass rush was amazing, but his run defense was pretty weak, all in all, it was a great gamble by the Seahawks.

ROFL at Bucksfans1and2  , thanks to Bucksfans1and2 for supplying the dumbest post of the thread, he defiantly doesn't know anything about football and scouting. Irvin was destroying the Packers all game long
