No, ive luckily never lost someone close to me.

Saying that i am still young, but i have been lucky.

This incident just might have opened my eyes to the real world, but it's weird because i knew a long time ago that people were killed for no reason (like sean in this case) but it just makes me soo mad that a man this talented and apparently also an amazing person was taken away so young, with a wife and an 18 month year old daughter and with all the talent in the world.

and im sorry for your losses, i can kind of imagine that losing someone close to you will make you feel much more emotional than someone you just watched on TV.

Thanks for replying.

You never know when it's going to hit close to home and what situations may present themselves. It's not about youth because death has been part of my entire life, as it has for many others. Maybe try to grasp the fact that reality will hit, so you don't go into some deep depression.

I'm not close to deep depression it's just everyday i learn more about him and everyday it seems that he was more and more special, which makes it even harder to get over.

Like recently ive heard people say that we might not ever see anyone with the ability and talent that Sean had, which makes me sad just not because he's gone, also out of fear that i may never be able to see anyone like him again.

And that makes me mad that i didnt really realize that before he died.. because let's just say if i knew everything ive learned up to this day, i wouldve watched this man play Football every sunday for 60 minutes and follow his life in more depth.

and i just want to post this, its a lyric from one of my favourite songs, and right when i heard it it made me think of sean...its a lyric of what i think Sean would be saying right now..

When I'm gone, just carry on, don't mourn
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that I'm looking down on you smiling
And I didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back

I know this is old news but this is messed up. I've always hated the skins. Even hated them the most from 82-88 but I never hated them so much that i'd be happy if they died in a messed up way like that. I'm sick & tired of stuff like this....with all the stealing & the home invasions & murders of family people who wanna do right :vent: . But i'm glad that Taylor got the message of getting his act 2 gether & wanting 2 be a better person. Darn shame he didn't get 2 spend many years as a better person.
Might explain why so many fools choose 2 not get it & stay buttholes permanently. :noway: Lots of them get 2 live 4ever.

Details Released in Sean Taylor shooting:

http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2008/mar ... -shooting/

For those who are interested. there is a fresh article about the Court Documents from the Sean Taylor Homicide that were released Today.

In late September, Jason Mitchell and a Dunbar High School friend drove down to Miami for the weekend.

Mitchell hadn't met Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor before, but his buddy Christopher Wardlow was dating Taylor's sister. The NFL star greeted them at the door. They helped out tidying the house for the sister's birthday party – Mitchell and Taylor mowed the lawn together – and when they were done, Taylor handed each of them a stack of large bills, totaling $300.

"That's pretty generous?" a Miami police detective asked Mitchell months later.

The 20-year-old Lehigh Acres man nodded his head.

Even thought it has been 8 months it's hard to believe he's gone.

RIP 5 years ago today to one of the greatest pure athletes and fiery competitors the sports world has ever seen..

A couple days ago I started watching some old videos and reading articles and, and not really his highlight videos/articles about football, but more about what kind of person he was; the few interviews he would do, his teammates and coaches talking about him.. and it still tears at my heart that such a person being lost his life in such meaningless fashion at such a horrible time

Doing this has helped refocus/motivate me these last few days to train hard and look forward to emulating his play the best I can for my next season, and has reminded me of one of the main reasons I wanted to start playing football, why I play the position I do, and the attitude I strive to play the game with.

His life and death have not gone in vain, as many people were touched and inspired by him. God bless his family and everyone else’s family who have experienced tragic loss of a loved one..

I didn't realize it was five years until I turned the radio on this morning and one of the sports guys mentioned him. Pretty crazy to think about where his career would be if not for the tragedy of his death.

I used to despise the Canes because of how flashy they were, but Sean Taylor was a no nonsense type guy who would just knock people into yesterday.

It would also be interesting to see how his game would have progressed in this age of protecting the offensive player during plays. He let it be known how hard he could hit, lowering his helmet and jacking people up.

RIP Sean Taylor. Could've been one of the greatest safeties of all time.

I was just thinking of Sean Taylor this weekend while watching football without realizing this date was coming up.

I thought the sky was the limit for him and really liked him as a player, when I found out the news I was stunned and very saddened especially with the details of the situation.

RIP Sean Taylor

Never met the guy personally, but when I heard news of his death, I was depressed for about a week or so. Felt like a brother of mine had just died or something. Only would have been 29 at this point, had he still been alive.

I remember being in college at the time, waking up getting ready for class and listening to the local ESPN Radio. I just couldn't believe it. I was straight up depressed for a while.
