Super Bowl jinx

Post#1 » by Celtsfan1980 » Sun Sep 7, 2014 10:03 pm

The NFL waits until punishing the Saints in the year they're hosting the Super Bowl. Oddly none of the other teams were punished in the Bounty scandal. Manning has an injury one year, the year the Colts are hosting the Super Bowl. The Giants and Cowboys did not play well the year they were hosting the Super Bowl. The Cardinals lose one of their best players for the year when they're hosting the Super Bowl. The Jets(with low expectations) may be the only exception in recent years. I'm somewhere in the middle, but it definitely seems strange to me. Are these legitimate performances, or is there something fishy?

The 49ers lose their head coach and Willis retires. Expect a bad season from San Fransisco. If this trend continues for several more seasons, you have to assume there's a conspiracy behind it.

Why would the NFL want to punish teams that are hosting the Super Bowl?

Also, Super Bowl locations are announced years in advance. I doubt the NFL could predict Peyton Manning would be out all of 2011 or that the Niners would collapse the way they are in 2015.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

We should find out soon how fishy things are. Do the Patriots just get another slap on the hand after burning the spy gate tapes, and now deflate gate ?

Basketball has likely rigged games and the draft lottery(Cavs, Magic, and Spurs winning and the Timberwolves losing), but it's impossible to think football has been involved with rigging to an extent. :noway:

Celtics-Lakers game 2
Celtics-Lakers game 7
Bulls-Jazz game 6
Lakers-Kings game 6
Much of the Heat-Mavericks series
All of them were officiated heavily in one team's favor. It's not evidence but certainly reason for suspicion. Even suspensions or lack of suspensions(Rondo vs. Chicago in game 7, Kobe for game 7 after elbowing Bibby) have possible corruption involved. The World Series have been very forgettable but even with baseball the lack of a salary cap where teams are punished(helping the big market teams) is a sign of corruption. I don't follow hockey very much, but all three team sports have signs of corruption at the top.
