I wonder if the Steelers will be honoring the career of freshly inducted Hall of Fame running back Jerome Bettis this season by posting a perfectly average 8-8 record. I'd rather see a guy with a short, illustrious career with a significant accomplishment on his resume than someone who just managed to hang on for a long time in the Hall. Terrell Davis comes to mind. If TD had managed to rest on everything he accomplished and then just hang on for about three or four more years doing jack squat, he would probably be in the hall. It's silly. Let him in over a guy with 3.9 a carry over his career.
What do you all think? Is just having a long career worthy of getting in the hall?
