The experts

Post#1 » by Celtsfan1980 » Tue Mar 15, 2016 9:45 am

Vick had an MVP caliber season, the Eagles do well in free agency, the experts jump on their bandwagon, and the Eagles play poorly the following season. Even I figured out that Vick played way over his head and was capable of having a down year, but the experts couldn't figure this out.

The Seahawks add Graham and the experts jump on their bandwagon. I recall they also got rid of an offensive lineman so that could be a problem. The experts are wrong again.

They frequently jump on Miami's bandwagon. After adding Deion and a few other free agents they jump on Washington's bandwagon. They're rarely correct but sure seem to be wrong an awful lot. Do they know what they're talking about?

Im totally confused as to why you used the Hawks as an example. Jumped on the bandwagon? After back to back SB appearances? A year ago, Carolina won like 7 games, and wasn't viewed as elite. Arizona under Arians, finished 2nd at best. Yes, the o-line did turn out to be the team's down fall.

The experts thought the Graham trade was a good one. That's why I used it. Considering the Seahawks were very lucky to beat the Packers and won a Super Bowl because Payton Manning was a disaster I can't say I've ever jumped on their bandwagon.

You are alittle bit too high and mighty here. Everybody knows that football is one of the hardest sports to predict.

Their is a reason why the NFL draft is such a crap shoot. You can get an MVP in the 5th round. You can get undrafted pro-bowlers.

I don't blame the experts, i just think of it as apart or the nature of the game the uncertainty or almost randomness to the game.

The Panthers were considered to be one of the worst teams coming into last year and then their best WR got hurt and they ended up making it to the super bowl.

Its not really a big deal about the unpredictability of the game and i don't get upset about it like you do. The randomness is almost apart of the game and that is why its one of the most popular sports in the world and that is also why gamblers love it so much.

It's popularly called "winning the offseason". There are certain teams that are always pretty good at it. Miami is definitely one of them. When it's the offseason and the experts want to talk football, what else are they supposed to talk about? Are they supposed to ignore it when teams add big name free agents?

Miami hasn't won anything offseason for decades. They just replaced bad culture players with more bad culture players. I wouldn't worry about anything Miami is doing.

That's why Miami and other teams like the Redskins are famous for "winning the offseason". It's a backhanded compliment. They blow money on big names and whenever the real season rolls around, it's the same mediocre crap as always.

"experts" are not paid for their concise analysis of players or teams. They are paid to draw interest, generate web hits, tune into channels, etc. People who get people talking are the ones that will be on TV or get printed. It's best not to put too much value into what they say, especially not this early in the year.
