Arthur Blank expects Matt Ryan’s next contract to be a team-friendly deal

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Thu Feb 8, 2018 11:00 pm

I think Matt Ryan should do what he believes is best for Matt Ryan. Just like, Blank would do what is best for him in every situation that is presented to him in life.
Matt Ryan deserves to be paid and Blank should be concerned about the other areas of the team that are handicapping the team to win a Super Bowl.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank expects Matt Ryan’s next contract to be a team-friendly deal.
"I think Matt is the kind of quarterback that will understand, at this point, this is also about what is his legacy going to be," Blank said. "He wants to win championships and make sure the team is in position that we can compete for free agents. We expect him to work with us to ensure there’s talent around him." Entering a contract year, extending Ryan is Atlanta’s top offseason priority. As a Tom Condon client, it would be surprising if Ryan settled for less than top-seven quarterback money. Feb 2 - 7:26 PM

yeah i'm sure that's what all owners want to think, but it very rarely works out that way

Really, really crappy to put that out there in public. If I'm Matt Ryan now, I'm taking them to the cleaners. They need him a lot more than he needs them.

You read it how I did.
I mentioned this to friends and they couldn't believe Blank went public with this and worded it like he did.

Such a weird thing to put out. It’s kind of like the criticism SF is getting for signing JG.

I mean, put yourself in the room. Matty’s agent says, ah, so since you publicly disparaged my client, we have been looking around the league. As you well know the 9ers just paid a dude who has never won anything a record contract. I think we are ready to move on.

Is there an offer you have that could keep Matt from testing that market?

Someone should ask him if they offered discounts at Home Depot for Hurricane victims. This is a business for them, why should players take discounts for that and even if they do no owners should be making statements in public. What a loser
