Hey genius, read my post. I said he's not as great as he used to be. We need to start grooming a successor anyway. Or do you want Farnsworth to take over?
Rivera's peripherals are through the roof this year... a career high in K/BB and his second best k/9 output. With that in mind, I find it hard to believe he's falling off. Joba, meanwhile, has too much potential as a starting pitcher to be throwing him in the bullpen after 5 innings of relief work in the majors. Cashman's been pretty open about his vision for our prospects and you better believe that vision includes Joba in the rotation.

Looks like the 2 of you have something in common.
In all seriousness Kandi, those were bloop hits, and his first blow save in half a freakin season man.

No, what you said is that Joba should take over for Mo next year. If you truly feel that way, I feel sorry for you. MO GAVE UP 3 CHEAP HITS. THAT ENTIRE INNING WAS FULL OF BLOOP HITS.
Joba will be a starter next year and Mariano Rivera will still be one of the best closers in baseball.
It's crazy to say that Mo doesn't have it anymore when he hasn't blown a save since April. But I guess it's just like the typical bandwagon Yankee fans to say this. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.
You want to give the reigns to Joba after 5 good innings and completely ignore Mo's previous body of work, especially this year, where he's been dominant for the most part.

agreed!!!
those hits were not hit hard at all and that is the only way u can beat Mo. Cheap Hits! He cant be perfect all the time people.

Typical Mo outing. They bloop him to death. Maybe Abe and Kandi should learn the difference between getting hit around and giving up bloopers, perhaps?

Stop kidding yourself and stop acting like a clown because I said one thing. Rivera has not been close to "dominant" this year. Give me a break. If you think this year is dominant than YOU are the one that knows nothing about Rivera or the Yankees.
Joba has the stuff for a closer and I don't care if it's 5 innings or not. Age catches up to every premier player in this league(except Roger and Barroid) and it will inevitably catch up to Rivera if it isn't slowly already. It's always best to have that young gun ready to go when he can't anymore. When that will be I don't know, maybe in 2 years or even next but all I know is great things don't last forever and Rivera isn't an exception to that.

After that Red Sox blown save in April, Mariano has been ridiculously dominant. Stop kidding yourself. If you want to make baseless comments, prove it.

Yes, I agree. But you said Joba should be the closer next year. Maybe a few years down the line, but Mo still has several good years in him and to say otherwise is just reactionary from what happened today.

damn... i suck. please explain why?
*OMG!! someone's on the roof already!!
The pitcher has to leave the game with the lead AND the team has to sustain that lead through the rest of the game. Wang's lead was lost when Rivera blew the save. When they Yanks got the winning run, Rivera was technically the pitcher in the game, so he gets the win. It's not worth worrying about, this is one of the reasons W-L record is a really stupid metric for measuring pitchers.
