Fun Fact: You can still win with defense.

Seattle is playing pretty well. It as a Cowboys fan I feel much better that matchup since it will be in Dallas.

Yeah, both teams matchup well at the moment. Good defense & a strong running game.

Let's say in the next 2 weeks

Steelers go 0-2 vs Patriots, @ Saints
Ravens go 1-1 vs Bucs, @ Chargers
Browns go 2-0 against @ Broncos, vs Bengals

This would make the Steelers are 7-7-1, the Ravens 8-7, and the Browns are 7-7-1. The Browns are playing the Ravens in the last week so would just have to beat them to finish above them, while the Steelers would be playing the Bengals, if they lost and the Browns won the Browns would make the playoffs

Now let's say the Bengals fire Marvin Lewis by then or he steps aside for the last game... now the Browns playoff hopes would be riding who else as HC, Hue Jackson

However, we have the BEST, and I mean the BEST  defense in the NFL currently. Make no mistake.

Actually the Bears are still statistically better.

Stats don't always tell the whole story. Regardless of stats, I have a need for an eye test. Nothing wrong with Bear defense, but I like ours better.

Actually the Bears are still statistically better.

If your into STATS, Dallas actually has a Defensive DVOA Ranking of 7th. They're overall team ranking is 17th.

https://www.footballoutsiders.com/dvoa-ratings/2018/week-14-dvoa-ratings

The top 5 are:
1. Chiefs
2. Chargers
3. Rams
4. Saints
5. Bears

8. Seahawks

17. Cowboys

One other team that I want to address for this week is the Dallas Cowboys. They're being hyped as the hottest team in the NFL thanks to a five-game winning streak that has all but clinched them the NFC East title. So you may be curious why the Cowboys are 17th in both total and weighted DVOA. The problem is that the Cowboys' winning streak really includes just one very impressive win: last week's defensive shutdown of the New Orleans Saints. All five of the Dallas wins have come by just one score, but at least the Saints win was over a really good opponent. The other four opponents Dallas has played over this winning streak all rank 20th or lower in total DVOA.

That’s for the entire year but not for the last 5-6 games. Dallas has vastly improved on defense once Vander Esch was forced to play more and once they traded for Cooper. Dallas converts a majority of their 3rd downs now which has kept the defense fresh and allowed them to play better.

The Bears also have been much better since trading for Mack. Before those trades both teams were headed for top 10 picks. Both defenses have been outstanding since then.

Yes, I know. It keeps track throughout the whole season. The article also specifically mentions the Cowboys (Quote above).

It's impressive how they've improved since the start of the year. IIRC the article mentions Dallas as having jumped from a mid-20's ranking to 17 (As of week 14).

That;s why the Sea Hawks have absolutely NO CHANCE of beating the Cowboys in Big- D. None. It won't happen.
