He also leads the league in 20+ yard receptions, is top 5 in yards per reception, top 3 in yards per route run, and has a top 5 PFF grade amongst wideouts. All this while not starting the first two weeks. Award is his to lose as far as I'm concerned.
Ya, I think he kind of gets lost in the shuffle a little bit because the Vikings have Cook and Jefferson isn't some freak human like a DK or someone like that.
But my god does that dude get it done. His best highlights are his route running, it's like watching an AI or Kyrie dribbling highlight. Jefferson just continuously spinning DBs around with ease. Then once he gets the ball in his hands, he is electric. Like I said in the "top 10 WR" thread, even as a rookie Jefferson is knocking on that door, if not already knocked that door down as being a top 10 WR.
JJ has a 90 PFF grade. That's pretty incredible for a rookie WR. Most receivers struggle adjusting somewhat their first year in the league. It's remarkable. Minnesota is like a hotbed for receivers lol.
Minny seems to be very hit or miss with their WRs. You have your Troy Williamsons/Laqueon Treadwell/Cordarrelle Patersons, but then you got your Thielen/Diggs/Jefferson. Ill take the major swing and misses if that means when we land we get guys like those 3. You can make the argument all 3 of those guys are current top 10 WRs in the league right now.
But ya Jefferson has just stepped right in and has looked elite from the first game he started. In the last decade who has had a better rookie season for a WR? Odell and Michael Thomas, is that it? I know his PFF grade is 2nd only to Odell's in the last decade.
