Broncos trading away two 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks, a 5th round pick, Drew Lock, Shelby Harris and Noah Fant. Cactus cant be too mad, that's a decent haul.

So you do a complete rebuild but leave Pete? That makes 0 sense to me. You're going to have a 71 year old coach heading into the season with the understanding they're not going to be good for probably 3 years at the minimum unless they secure a franchise QB.

You're right. Pete isn't looking to completely rebuild. The team is clearing signifcant cap space. I just have a weird feeling that another move (QB potentially) is coming.

That's my gut feeling: Deshaun to Seattle for this year's #9, #40, #41, next year's SEA FRP and DEN picks (1st and 2nd rounder)

That would be three FRPs and three 2nds for Watson.

Seattle can reload the position, mostly using capital from this Wilson trade.

My take is they've had interest in Watson. But they won't get in a bidding war. So he'll end up elsewhere.

It's clear they want to replicate the early LOB years. Have a young cost controlled QB for the next 4 to 5 years. While also having more cap space available to use on other area's of the team.

When you pay a QB (market value) there is less to go around. Teams with good QB's on rookie contracts are viewed as having a clear advantage. More cap that can be spread out.

The same reason the Niners drafted Lance last year. Now plan on dumping Garoppolo.

When Dak is making 40 million a year, you are pretty much guaranteed to never win a super bowl. Its almost no mans land to pay anyone but the truly elite that much money.
