Ya this is Dobbs all over again. KOC has zero faith in him, so he’s coaching him up until the mic gets cut off. That’s why this is happening with the play clock.

Same thing happened with Dobbs and when Darnold started to fall apart the last 2 games last year

I need to see the first 6 games before I have an opinion

Meh this entire offseason is enough for me to be off the hype train. Between the reports of KOC being the one pushing for Rodgers. All the reports of how bad JJ looked thought out camp. And now KOC calling plays at the same level he did for Dobbs.

Just a very rough 5 months or so for the JJ hype train

Not going to lie. Kind of missing Harrison Phillips and his run defense in this game big time

Why did they move him? Money??

I literally have no clue. I was expecting a move for a secondary guy, but that never came. It’s not like we’re up against the cap this year, so it’s not like they had to move him. And damn they’re really missing him in the run game big time right now

From the reports and stuff I heard, he really really struggled throwing on the move all summer. KOC also loves calling play action, he calls it as much as any play caller. So I take it that he just didn’t see enough from JJ over the summer for play action to be a big part of the play calling

Caleb needs to set his feet when he throws

He’s just a straight up bad QB trying to play in structure. I was so high on him after that first year with him playing for USC. Then that 2nd year it really showed, take away the flashy plays and make him play in structure, it’s just foreign to him. His footwork and throwing motion just are all over the place.

He made his bones on roll outs and scrambles, which almost never translates well to NFL.

I never understood why he got picked so high, not like he has great measurables or arm strength. Doesn't go thru his progressions to make up for it either.
