Well lol

He can be both washed and what we need

If morrow and a undeveloped Christian Ellis are the barometer than Leonard basically just has to be reasonably startable to be an upgrade

That’s the sad situation the LB room is in

Ellis is basically Tj edwards back in 2019 where you’re like that guy has something but not there yet

And morrow is basically good at blitzing. That’s it

If Leonard is just within range of Cunningham then it’s an upgrade over what they have

Losing TJ has honestly proven to be worse than we thought

I was kidding.lol I don’t expect much from him but I do think he will start. That’s just where we are at with the current linebacker depth and all the injuries. I think he will be better than what we had there (which isn’t saying much) but how much better is the question.

The cowboys had the first shot at him and more money.
There’s a rumour he didn’t pass their physical.
The weird thing is that Leonard was usually great against the run and crappy in coverage. He was mad because Indy didn’t want him on the field on passing downs.
Good depth though.

He doesn’t have to be great. He just has to be better than morrow. Cunningham is their best LB but he’s hurt right now

If Leonard is better than morrow it’s a win.

It’s like last year when Davis was out and they had no DTs to fill his role. Just guys like Hargrave and cox who like to pass rush at this stage of their career. So they signed suh and Joseph. 2 guys who were on the street.

Leonard doesn’t have to be Fred Warner. Hell Leonard doesn’t have to be 2021 Leonard. He just has to be better than morrow which is unfortunately a pretty low bar.

It’s not a bad signing. Wouldn’t have minded him as a cowboy to help in running situations. Just funny that a contending team paid him millions to stay home rather than be in coverage is an upgrade.
But I like the signing. No risk high reward.
Not much of a downside.

I mean, after watching the eagles/49ers where the 49ers clearly attacked the middle of the eagles defense all game long, the eagles absolutely needed a linebacker. The rest of the defense is fine but man those linebackers right now are terrible.

This is a good signing, not because of how Leonard might play but because it’s a huge need for the eagles right now. Like last stand said, he just needs to be better than morrow and it’s a win, if he ends up being a good contributor then even better.

Read on Twitter
?s=20

Obviously it’s not an exact science but these numbers suggest shaq Leonard is an upgrade in coverage over what the eagles already have.

Nakobe dean, Cunningham, morrow, and Ellis all allowed a higher passer rating in coverage. QBs are damn near elite when targeting morrow (117.8) and Ellis (101.5) on the year..yuck Cunningham is at 88.2 passer rating allowed and nakobe dean was at 92.6 passer rating allowed in the small amount of snaps he’s received.

He's coming to Seattle. Right guys!?

Spoiler:

This is one of the weirdest free agent reporting I’ve ever seen in sports.. kawhi was crazy but everything with him was denied and confirmed pretty fast after things got going. Correa was crazy because he literally signed a contract with 3 teams within a week of each other, but at least there’s an explanation for that, he had bad medicals. I think if I remember correctly the reporting on that was pretty consistent regardless of him flip flopping between teams.

This Ohtani thing is just so weird. There’s conflicting reports all over. It also looks like a few reporters jumped the gun and wanted to be the first ones to announce the signing and reported things based on little or no insider information. Yesterday was crazy, I thought for hours that Ohtani was a blue jay. Now it looks like all reports yesterday were completely false. A days worth of “my sources say” and all were wrong.. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that before. And now there’s no further reports.lol it’s just quiet for the last 14-15 hours, basically since that plane landed and it wasn’t Ohtani.

We have a baseball and basketball forum in case you need guidance. First time I've seen baseball talk in the NFC East thread in 7 years. But I guess its apparent it doesn't really matter to you.

Nah it doesn’t matter. We will talk about the eagles sweeping the cowboys real soon, don’t worry.

But at least it’s still about sports. You were literally just talking about lobster and pampered chef or whatever in the week 14 game thread. That’s not even about sports! Go to a cooking forum for all that!!

That's more like it. I was about to bring up penis envy and Anal sex as the next topic in the NFC East thread to offset your baseball talk. At least it will get QB Egal poster re-engaged and excited again.
