And get who to replace him?

Alex Smith of course.

Interesting point to jump off of this: supposedly the Vikings have talked to St. Louis about trading for QB Sam Bradford. Link

Would make sense given some of the rumors (Rams interested in Manziel, Vikes not looking QB in the first) floating around out there. That link has some speculation re: something along the lines of Bradford and #13 for Ponder and #8, with the Rams presumably taking Manziel at 8 and either Watkins or Robinson at 2.

Still, the Rams privately insist that there have been no talks regarding a possible trade of Bradford. Even if there were, who would commit $14 million in 2014 base salary to an up-and-down passer who is rehabbing a torn ACL?

That’s reason enough to assume there would be no little or no trade market for Bradford.

I’m sure the Rams would love to deal the overpaid/injury riddled Bradford but realistically there isn't a market for him. With that being said lets not forget that he was on pace for 30+ td’s and 4,000 yards last year before he got hurt....that's pretty damn good.

Well I'm assuming he would have to restructure his deal as part of any trade.

And your second sentence kinda explains why there would be a market for him, if the Rams really were interested in drafting Manziel and moving on from Bradford.

I recall the 49ers struggled early last season when Crabtree was out. Kaepernick is closer to Alex Smith than he is to Drew Brees and he will be overpaid. He could finally make the Browns relevant if he was traded. As a Browns fan I'd love to see a trade. Probably just wishful thinking at this point.

My general rule of thumb is to ignore everything that comes out in the week before the draft.

Having said that...

The Rams would be very smart to dump him now and get something in return. They won't get crap once he gets another injury, which would be his 5th in 7 seasons.

Look at them though. They need to win NOW. How does changing QBs and changing the offense to suit Manziel help them?

Tough call. I don't believe it happens.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Win now in a division with the 49ers, Seahawks and the Cardinals? Good luck.

He's overrated. Without a great line he might actually not be very good at all. I think tons of qbs would lead the 49ers to 12+ wins with that squad.

San Fransisco came very close to the Super Bowl with Alex Smith. It's possible you're right. My brother tells me the Browns would have to get rid of more than the 4th pick for Kaep, but I certainly wouldn't do it. The Browns don't have a bad offensive line, and they do have potential for a very good receiving group if they can draft one more. The defense has been above average for a few years now. There is potential if they have even a decent quarterback.

No way I'd trade even the 4th pick for Kaep. He isn't asked to do much to carry the team offensively (because they don't need it) and he still ranks 31st in the nfl in completion percentage. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/playe ... pletionPct

Baalke is a beast!!! Stevie was highly productive playing out of the slot in Buffalo; I'm assuming that's where he'll line up a majority of the time next season.

I still think we need a burner though...

And so starts the Manziel era...

Sources tell ESPN that Josh Gordon could face a season-long suspension following a second failed drug test, this time for marijuana.

Why would this pop up now and not a long time ago? The whole timing of this seems suspicious to me. If it happened months ago, they should have been informed.

With a full season of Bradford, which is a gigantic IF Rams are not far off but yeah that's a brutal division.
