The school @studcrackers spoke about - Allen - plays in a stadium that cost over $70 million to build. And before anyone talks about how stupid it is to pay that much to build a high school stadium, just know that the vote to build it passed with over 90% voting yes. Town just north of Allen (McKinney) just passed a referendum to build one for over $60 million. Vote wasn't close.
So yeah. It's different down here.

Here, there's no way that would fly. Especially in a city like Seattle. The anti-sports/liberal crowd here would throw a fit. They still can't pass plans for a new arena (NBA/NHL). Seattle is the worst in regards to actually getting anything approved. Traffic is a nightmare. . Not quite L.A. level, but not far behind either.
i doubt the city of dallas would approve such a thing, but the suburbs would. traffic is a mess here too. also, it was 60 not 70 million and was part of a huge bond to also build some other stuff in the school.
but the thing is packed just about every friday night and can host other events (graduation, playoff games, low level college games). idk, the main reason it got built is cause our city is to stubborn to build a 2nd high school, which it needs. the high school is massive it's 10-12th grade and is about 4500 students while the old high school is the 9th grade center. but despite all this it still ranks as one of the top public High schools in the state and graduates just about everyone
