Mike Brown, Katy Blackburn + her husband, and Duke Tobin are cheap.

Zac has 2 years left on his deal.

Firing the DC he spent all those years on the Dolphins with + the O line coach (who allegedly called 3rd down plays), are shots directly to the right and left of Zac.

I'd say 2025 is his last shot. They mutually parted with Marvin after 16 seasons with 1 year left on his deal, so I could see that scenario repeating.

Zac's poor play calling and situational decision making lost them several games this season. He's got to get better. He'd be wise to give up play calling but his ego is probably far too fragile for that.

Remember when Gruden was traded for draft pics? I'm honestly surprised that doesn't happen again. If I were the Bears or the Jags - I would offer the Rams 3 FRP's or something and see if they could get Sean McVay.

Mike McCarthy’s contract is up as of January 14th. The Bears only need permission if they want to interview him before then. I still have a feeling Jerry is going to offer him the HC job but he’s going to walk.

The Bears are a mess. Mccarthy? The guy blew so many late game situations with the Cowboys, due to his clock management, that fact alone should discredit him. Eberflus totally choked away several Bears games this year due to clock management, so for the Bears NOT to have any antennas up regarding these
Coaches with clock issues, shows these guys have no idea what they're looking for

I wouldnt do that if I was Bears, McVay has been flirting with a TV job many years now. I dont think he'll be a head coach for many more years so I am not going to risk giving up my future to get the new Bill Cowher.

Mccarthy also doesnt make sense, they need a younger offensive mind, maybe someone from Kevin O'Connell's staff if they cant get Ben Johnson.

If the Bears are going to trade for a HC they should trade for Shanahan.

That would not improve their clock management

Tom Pelissero reported Bengals are interviewing Patriots DC Demarcus Covington and Raiders DC Patrick Graham.

Admittedly, i know nothing about either guy.

Edit: looks like they each won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in their coaching careers.

Pretty solid list

Gonna be disappointed when it's Eberflus because nobody wants to work with Baalke.
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

Doug Pederson's job the second half of the season was like Jimmy Carter at his birthday.

Maybe the Cowboys plan to resign McCarthy before the 14th? If the Bears are willing to wait until then they will no longer need the Cowboys permission to talk to MM. They may also want to get their HC signed sooner rather than later.

I dont get why teams fire coaches but not GMs. Hiring a coach and a GM seperately is a recipe for disaster unless they have a prior working relationship.

Titans did just fire their GM. Has to make Callahan feel uneasy.
