I think what we are witnessing with 49ers, is just how important CMC is to that team.

And unfortunately for my Cowboys, they get to see his return. Although I think the 49ers probably would beat Dallas without him. but now it's going to be another 50-10 type game.

Is he done in Cleveland? I know they have to pay him next season however I assume they tell him not to show up since rehab will be 12 months and it wouldn’t be worth it
I have no idea. He has $92 million guaranteed over the next 2 seasons (2025 and 2026) then an additional nearly $27 million in 2027 in guaranteed money if he's traded or released.

Despite a 12+ month rehab ahead of him, I'd say he will still be a Brown for awhile.

I'm sure you are joking. I take Purdy and give him his gucci bag over Dak and so would you. Last thing anyone needs is a playoffs choker if winning SB matters, no kidding aside.

What is Purdy’s playoff record and how many titles has he won?

Better than Dak obviously and only if I had to pay 60 mil per to one of them. Not sure why anyone not know Dak is just a solid regular season gamer like other athletes that doesn't show up when it matters.

To be clear, that's $92 million per year

If they cut him next year, they would have a dead cap of $172 million for 2025, meaning they literally could not field a team. So they can't cut him until 2026 at the earliest, and even then you're looking at an $80 million or so cap hit in 2026, and like $30 million in 2027

Their only hope is if someone trades for him and takes the bulk of his contract, but it would be a pure salary dump. I'm talking multiple 1st round picks, cause whoever's trading for him ain't gonna compete, they're just gonna tank until he's off the books.

When a team signs a player with a contract structured as such, they are joining to the hip for its entirety, for better or worse. Deshaun nor anyone wouldn't have any other reason to succeed when financial was probably their only motive to play in Cleveland.

My point is neither has won crap and after this season Purdy’s contract will surpass Dak’s as far as most expensive. Both are playoff losers making more than $60M per season, again Purdy will be after the season.

What that organization is doing to Herbert is pitiful. He deserves better.

The Chargers. I would never pull for anyone against them unless there was some premier obvious talent at the top of the draft, clear cut pick, like Wemby, and they were tied for the worst record in the league.

That was a weird game. The Chargers blew it in many ways, and couldn't get into the end zone. But at the same time, the Cards D looked way tougher than expected. But the Chargers gave up a big play, and then had some boneheaded penalties at the worst time.

And the one time they catch a break with an INT, the guy fumbles it back.

No, he's BY FAR the best coach they've had in years, maybe ever. The only guys that could potentially get into the convo with him going back are Schottenheimer, Bobby Ross and of course Don (Air) Coryell, but he more just put a super exciting product on the field than was a great overall coach.

Harbaugh took the 28th defense and turned them into the top scoring defense, and like top 5-7 in yards per game allowed.

They are just so different. Defense, low scoring, run the ball, etc. The one game Herbert passes for 350 they lose. But they had some misfortunes.

You always had that gut feeling they would lose every game and blow it for years before this year. This year feels completely different. Last night had a tiny bit of that feeling back, but not really.

They just failed to get into the end zone (but I like how Harbaugh always takes the points because they nearly won anyway), dropped a basic td pass which turned into a touchback, and then on the Cards last drive, had a bad 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct call when the Chargers were likely going to stop them. It was a pretty questionable call too.

They also lost a load of offensive talent, but the main person they are missing is Keenan Allen. And their receiving corp is banged up. First round pick Quentin Johnston who looked like a bust last year but has broken out this year was out so they couldn't stretch the field, as well as another one of their better receivers. Bosa and Asante Samuel Jr are both out too which are big losses.

They need to protect Herbert better though. I don't understand why their OL struggled so much with the Cards pass rush.

Harbaugh always has an issue with not holding players accountable, even at Michigan, that cost team games like last night...

https://youtu.be/USBAqX8QUEg?si=xDCZ2EST2YUaJ92L

Reagor is the WORST mistake pick ever to pass up Jefferson for when he was sitting there to be taken and should be cut after what happened last night, which has been his claim to fame to remain relevant, even negatively.

It was just a joke because they won last week without him and lost this week with him.
