Conspiracy theory....Dak has no injury. He and Jerry staged it after the 49ers loss to ensure a higher draft pick.

They read Mr. Bs posts in here about tanking.

I'm kinda torn

On one hand, if the Jags get the #1 pick, we could get Travis Hunter and have an elite CB duo to go with someone to play a few WR snaps

On the other, we might be able to trade the pick for a haul to a QB-needy team and build up the O line, cause nobody on it is above average, and half of it is in their mid-30s.
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

They had a bunch of guys leave in free agency & then didn't bring in vets to replace them.

The funny thing is I don’t want them to be big spenders.
You always overpay in free agency. But to ignore it all together is just as bad. I have a feeling they will spend a lot more next year with a new coaching staff.

There isn't much risk in free agency, you pretty much know exactly what you are getting. Unlike the draft which is a massive risk and you don't know what will happen. Dallas opted to draft for need at DT and LT, they took a risk, and it failed. If they had just been willing to spend a bit in FA they would have been much stronger there and then also been able to draft BPA instead.

They suck at free agency. Overpaying might be bad, but signing no one at all is worse.

That’s not true. Take the last big free agent the Cowboys signed Brandon Carr as an example. He earned that contract based on his play in Kansas City. Unfortunately he didn’t fit the system the Cowboys ran. Sometimes free agents are a product of the system they play in. If you don’t have the exact same system in place with similar players around them you can miss big time in free agency. Unless you’re signing a clear freak athlete like Deion Sanders free agency is as big a crap shoot as the draft is.

I’ve been calling for the tank! Looks like someone was listening. Get that #1 pick and trade down for a king’s ransom. There’s going to be at least 1 idiot that is willing the give up a ton for Shedeur Sanders.

Trading down is my plan for the Cowboys if they get the #1 pick. Trade down pick up some extra picks and still draft Ashton Jeanty (or a LT).

I have to say, Dallas at #1 overall would be super interesting. Haven't seen that since Aikman. Mixed in with Belichick? About as fresh of a start as you could hope for. And yeah a Hershel Walker type trade would be ideal.

Carr still held up much better than Claiborne.

I mean yeah there is still some risk with a FA, but a draft pick can end up being someone that just straight up shouldn't be on an NFL field at all. There is no free agent Jamarcus Russell.

If that's the plan, you're going to come away disappointed. Like I mentioned earlier this isn't the year to covet the first pick. Shadeur isn't that dude. Would a team give up a ton of assets to move up? I highly doubt it. There isn't that one guy in this class that stands out from the rest.

The Panthers traded two 1st, two 2nds, and DJ Moore to get Bryce Young.

You can book it here, a QB will go #1 in this draft. Once the Combine is here and a guy like Sanders is able to show his athletic ability there’s going to be at least 1 GM that thinks Shedeur is the best Jayden Daniels. Also even though we’ve seen recent failures of guys like Trey Lance and Anthony Richardson there will always be a GM that thinks he has the next Cam Newton when he looks at Cam Ward.

You know they’re going to fail, I know they’re going to fail, everyone except them knows the guy is going to fail. They can’t help themselves though. Not only that, what will teams be willing to give up for Travis Hunter? If your team is going to suck and you’re clearly out of any playoff contention you’re better off tanking and getting the #1 regardless of the talent at the top.

Didn’t San Fran trade three 1st for Trey Lance?

Spoiler: Bryce was also viewed as a much better prospect than Shedeur.

He didn't pan out. But Bryce was still highly coveted by teams. It's no secret that Houston preferred him over Stroud. As did a lot of teams.

It would be the most Jags thing to get 2 1st overall picks in years we don't need a QB only to have there be no QBs worth taking #1, so nobody wants to trade up for it lol

Yes there are ALWAYS ~5 bad teams in dire need of a QB and then it becomes a question of which team is willing to overpay the most.

Jets will be in there for sure

Raiders
Titans
probably the Giants

the Browns? Is that even possible? Maybe not

Yes. You are easily the dumbest Cowboy fan I have ever encountered in 54 years. I think you should go away till you're properly educated if that's possible in Texas. :clown: :pityfool: Your already talking about the next coach and draft and your upset with me for telling the truth about all current affairs involving this year's team. Wow.
