Looks like the compensation is what I thought it would be. No team obviously offered a first.

Unfortunately for Seattle, when a player requests a trade it usually lowers their trade value.

Never ever was going to be a first and a third. lol
Most offers were probably a third.

Probably not but I also wouldn’t rule out a 1st either, especially if something like a mid round pick is going back the other way.

Most GMs viewed it as a third. But all it takes is for one team to overpay so you never know.
Rare to trade a first and pay a guy free agent money who’s going on his third contract.

One positive: Pickens & DK on the same team is lol worthy. The two of them together will be a fun watch for sure.

Good move by Seattle. DK is a freak athlete, but he's far from being a truly elite WR.

No way would I want DK taking up 30 mil per year. So be able to move off on that and get a 2nd round pick as well, great move by Seattle.

Why are the Steelers going all in?

Without a QB, they’re paying a lot of players to come in second place in their division and probably not even get to the AFC Championship for the foreseeable future.

They’re going to have to pay Pickens soon too?

Haven’t there been rumours of the Steelers trading Pickens?

DK is a third tier WR imo. He just doesn’t impact every game. 1 great game - 3 no shows.
Praying for Burrow

If most GMs viewed it as a 3rd then why did he go for a 2nd after he requested a trade? He all of a sudden became more valuable once teams knew Seattle had no other choice but to trade him?lol

That locker room is going to be so toxic if they start losing games.

His value didn’t change. Everyone knew they were shopping him.
We know a lot of teams were interested and talking to Seattle. Common sense is that Seattle traded him to the highest bidder. That means that all the other offers were worse.
You and Cactus overrated is value. Now you are trying to do damage control.

I was hoping for a 1st in return (obviously). But figured with the trade demand & how things we're unfolding that it would likely end up being a 2nd. But whatever. I'm fine with it. Moving on.

I didn’t think they’d get a 1st after he requested a trade so I don’t think I overrated it at all. Common sense is value drops after somebody requests a trade.

Yep, it’s about the best return in this situation after he requested to be traded. Still a good return considering the circumstances. Mooney wouldn’t go for close to that amount.lol

TJ Watt is also up for an extension after the 2025 season. However he’s already 30 so how much are the Steelers going to pay him?

Though if he’s still getting double-digit sacks, forcing the same number of fumbles and getting pressures they may have to pay him.
