Has Kwesi met John Schneider?
These teams really do mirror each other. The difference being that Minnesota has their QB of the future in waiting.
Haha ya they really do mirror each other.
High level weapons on offense. The QB bust that everyone else gave up on. And one of the worst interior lines in the league.
I will say we do have the JJ advantage. But y’all have the youth on defense advantage. Also doesn’t help Kwesi can’t draft to save his life. Thankfully he’s been good with signing FAs and we have a ton of cap space to use.
I do envision Macdonald trying to emulate the Ravens/Michigan model. That's his background. A physical run first team with a great defense. That's the type of team he wants.

The Eagles are a bad matchup for the Rams. I've got the Eagles winning fairly comfortably.

Honest question, who was the best team the Vikings beat this season? Packers?

It's a good thing you are not their GM assuming that tossing money is all that's needed to fix the line yet they went 14-3 this season where their QB was instrumental in their success. They will draft to fix the interior. Besides, it shouldn't take a max contract but more like Baker's 3/100 mil half guaranteed. 49ers would offer Sam the same then what they plan to offer Purdy this offseason. I think Purdy is better than Sam but he isn't worth double that. If Sam gets a much better offer elsewhere, the Vikings can reconsider their options to keep him in Minny.Duke4life831 wrote:WentzerWuver wrote:49ers would resign Darnold for half the amount for the starting job, then what they plan to offer Purdy this offseason. I can see him being a good enough QB long term if the Vikings had the cap space to fill their major issues. But the problem here is, if they were to sign Darnold. Then their goes a ton of salary that they can use to fill their holes.
With no Darnold, the Vikings have one of the best cap situations going into the offseason. Basically just spend all of that on the interior line, use the few draft picks for youth and athleticism in the secondary. Then hope JJ can come in and look solid like many of the other guys in this draft class.
Fixing the interior line is far more important than keeping Darnold. Because if they don’t fix that, no matter who the QB is, this will be a continuing problem.

And JJ is NOT a pro franchise QB but a Harbaugh' hyped backup at this level based on his films in college unless he can make drastic improvements to play as well as Sam has this season. I would not risk it and hope to find a team desperate enough to trade for him. Even Harbaugh would keep Herbert at his current contract rather than trade straight up for JJ because once he starts showing his weaknesses, his value will plummet. Personally, I hope JJ proves me wrong and becomes a franchise QB cause he's a good guy.

Texans with all 3 of their WRs. Crushed them 34-7. And without Diggs and Dell they’re in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

The Eagles had 3 losses this year, none of them were to the Vikings. Not sure what you’re talking about.

Rams are a good team. Better than their record indicates. At this point, all of the teams left standing in the NFC are really good. So not sure how much of an upset it would be. Rams have playoff pedigree and Stafford is still really good.
With that said, the Eagles seem to match up pretty well and already beat them soundly earlier this year.

True. I can already hear the Cowboys fans saying our season ended no different than that of their pussy loser team.

Nakobe Dean out for the playoffs. Expect his replacements to get targeted in pass coverage.

255 yards, wow. I am sure the Rams will struggle to stop that still.GeorgeSears wrote:Rams are going to need to play a whole lot better on offense if they want any chance against the Eagles. Saquon ran wild on them last time.

Some QB needy team will sign him. But his contract will likely have a ton of incentives. He's not going to get a massive number of guarantees.
Zero chance of that lol, Shanahan loves Purdy. Not even for one-third.
Darnold will still get paid by someone, there are lot of bad starting quarterbacks in the league and many teams would love to just make the playoffs. He lost few mil but not enough to make him worry about feeding his family.

It's up to Buffalo and Detroit to give us a refreshingly different SB for once! Actually, Washington would be cool too.
I'd love to include Houston in that mix but we all know they already lost to KC before it even starts.

We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Re: Wildcard Weekend thread
I don't care how much he loves Purdy, they can't afford to give every impact player their gucci bag even tho his puppet GM has no backbone to say no when push comes to shove. But you might be right on Sam getting paid cause he has shown enough all season long for the Vikings making SMART decisions to not overreact based on last night game only unlike most everyone here. Like Carr was finally good cause he stop making mistakes for a few games earlier this season LolEl Turco wrote:WentzerWuver wrote:49ers would resign Darnold for half the amount for the starting job, then what they plan to offer Purdy this offseason. That's one team that might be desperate enough to trade for JJ. If they offer their 9th overall pick, jump on it and draft Will Campbell.

Aikman last night.
You hate to say it but the Vikings 14 games won has the same meaning as teams who didn’t make the playoffs.
He is absolutely right.
