Yup this is what I saw. Between what Tua said earlier this year and now this by Fitzpatrick. I think it’s pretty safe to say Flores lost that locker room.

I think losing the players trust, then add on Fitzpatrick saying he was a dictator and he would even struggle to find any coaches from Miami to back him.

That’s basically as bad as it can get. Players hated him and so did his own coaching staff.

He may get one more chance to see if he’s grown as a HC. But I won’t be shocked if he becomes this generation’s LeBeau or Monte Kiffin. Elite defensive minds, just not cut out to be a HC

Well this would be interesting. Jerry making a run at Steve Sarkisian from Texas? Then if he can’t get Sark he would just resign McCarthy. Other than going after a college coach this sounds very much like something Jerry would do.

Bad take. Sark couldn't cut it as an OC in the league (Atlanta). Some guys are just better suited for the college game. Sark is one of them.

I can't see him leaving to go to the NFL. Especially at a program like Texas. Where he basically has his pick of recruits.

Plus, Sark has never struck me as a guy who would enjoy working for a personality like Jerry. He's a bit of a control freak. If he worked for Jerry, he wouldn't stay sober for very long.

Floral is an Excellent tactician. Elite coaching of Xs and Os. I hope and believe he has grown, in how he would handle the QB position going forward. I don't believe he would repeat his TUA situation. I can forsee this happening. People talk Raiders Vrabel because of Bradys relationship with Vrabel. Well, Brian Flores was also on staff. Think about this Raider Nation, Brian Flores HC Raiders. SAM DARNOLD as his QB brought on over from Minnesota. That could be what the black and silver may need

if flores becomes a head coach again somewhere the smart thing for him would be to bring along one of o'connell's offensive assistants to handle that side of the ball/the quarterbacks

Flores won 5 games that first season when the Dolphins weren't supposed to win a game. He won 10 games the next season.

Maybe he is just a no nonsense coach and the players these days all think they are celebrities and couldn't handle it. I bet 20 years ago no one would have thought anything. Now, everyone is coddled and you have players like Tyreek literally quitting on the team during a game.

I'm pro Flores

That's my impression as well, although maybe more like 30 years ago.

Brian schottenheimer is his guy. Either him or Waldron. But I don't think Waldron would be welcomed back.

Schotty doesn't call plays in Big D. I could see Pete turning back to Bevell though.

Actually there’s a really good chance that Scotty is gone even if McCarthy resigns with the Cowboys. There’s been a lot of talk about the lack of motion in the offense. If they keep MM I would think they will move on from Schotty and look to bring in another OC.

No but he’s going to be the scapegoat if they keep McCarthy. I would be surprised if he’s back in Dallas next season.

I actually think there's a very good chance Carroll lands the Raiders job.

Were interviewing BJ & Glenn tomorrow/Friday & Saleh next week.

Most Raiders fans want 1 of the Lions coordinators to get hired.

You could do a lot worse than Pete. He's not perfect by any means & he has his blind spots. But he's a great option in the short-term.

Ben Johnson is the top coaching candidate. But has been very picky & will likely choose a team with a young QB (Chicago/New England). I'm not sure how realistic it is that he would pick the Raiders over other teams tbh.

I'm not sold on Glenn as a candidate personally. His defenses have not always been good as a DC. It's been very mixed. If you're going to hire a defensive coach, then you want someone who gets results & is viewed as a defensive savant (X's & O's).

Sames goes for Saleh. He underwhelmed as the coach of the Jets. He's part of the Carroll & Shanahan coaching trees, but he's not known as a savant.

Brian Flores bombed so badly as a HC that I wouldn't even entertain the idea if I was an owner. Too much negative feedback from players. It would be just too much of a gamble.

The other popular name is Vrabel. But there just isn't a ton of great options out there at the moment.

Jesse Minter (Chargers DC) is young & comes from the Harbaugh tree. He replaced Mike Macdonald as the DC at Michigan & won a National Championship last year with Jim Harbaugh. But he may need another year or two of experience in the league to make the jump.

You need to have a great OC if you're going to hire Carroll, his offenses were outdated by 20 years to be generous. I doubt he is a serious candidate anyway.
