Herbert looks awful. He's looked pedestrian all season.

It's amazing how much the feel of the game changed since that play.

Stroud has done well when line gave him time and receivers held on the ball. Normally he is not very good at improvisation plays but he seems to be learning as the game progresses.

Yeah, I mean I loved Stroud last year. He had been a bit disappointing this year though, at least according to my expectations. I expected Houston to be really tough this year, but aside from that Ravens game, they have not been as bad as it feels. KC struggled in beating them, though KC hasn't really been too impressive in many of the victories, like their last win at home against the Chargers where they tried a last second FG for the win and hit it the upright and in.
I just felt the Texans and Stroud had gotten deflated with a couple of minutes left in the half, and that front four for the Chargers looked crazy good, and then that broken play gave them so much life and suddenly 2 minutes later the Chargers look a bit deflated.
It really sucks Herbert is so devoid of weapons and his one veteran receiver is out.
I never feel good about the Chargers, but the upside is that they have been a second half team down the stretch this year, and Harbaugh has been great with adjustments. Like down 14-0 to the Chiefs and shut them down in the 2nd half until that FG. Then they were down to the Broncos by 8 at halftime a few weeks ago and won by 7.
But I know Houston is talented on both sides of the ball, and I do think DeMeco Ryans is a good coach.
I'm hoping they can come out strong. It really came down to a couple of big broken defensive plays, but mostly the defense looked great outside of that.

Re: Wildcard Weekend thread
Dumb route by Quentin. You have a 4th round play to run between 2-3 yards on your pattern and you run 0 forward. Idiot.
I don't know how you make that mistake when the 1st down marker is like right there in the corner of your eye. I can't stand low iq players.

This game reminded me how much I hated Greg Roman, he is one of the few blind spots Harbaugh has

Three straight running plays is just scared play calling from the Chargers.

Yeah, I don't like how much they want to try and run it. They don't have the personnel to play a power running game.

He doesn't show up in big games. Too many drops. I hate to pile on but the man is not a dependable NFL receiver in PO games
Praying for Burrow

The Chargers played the easiest schedule in the league by the way. They beat up on bad teams. If they lose this game - I'm going to be pissed

Well I mean he hasn't been in any playoff games. He was a rookie last year. The first WR taken and all he did was drop balls. He kind of bounced back in a nice way this season given there were zero expectations. But he did have a few drops one game. He had a huge game last week. It turns out that last pass was a drop.
Houston coverage has been good though.
The biggest problem with the Chargers is they don't have any skill receivers who can beat man coverage outside of McConkey, so teams now can go man on them and stack the box, and if McConkey hurts them too much, they can double him. That's been the case.
Their starting vet receiver Josh Palmer is out too.
I wish they would have either gotten someone at the deadline, or Keenan Allen would have taken less money to stay like Bosa and Mack did, restructuring their contracts.
I can't imagine what Herbert would be like if he had someone like Ja'Marr Chase or Nico Collins.
It's amazing to me that it's so hard for their receivers to get open and they don't have much, that he threw for 3,700 yards with 23 tds and 3 ints. They tried to be a running team for most of the year though, so he really didn''t have much designed for him.
Not a big Greg Roman fan myself...especially when you have a solid QB. He did well with LaMar but Lamar is more of a running QB to help his running game....was his coordinator when LaMar won MVP the first time.

I didn't even realize Palmer was out. That's big for them....

He's had 3 drops this game. Including that deep ball he should have caught late in the first. I just can't stand him.
I agree by the way - Chase + Collins or any elite receiver with Herbert would be incredible.

Texans fans should be more pissed if Chargers win, Texans outplayed them but dumb turnovers holding them back.

Who are some of the best TE's going into this draft? I want one that can block and catch at a high level(not a fan of Schultz at all).
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

I really hope they take a WR and TE in the first 2 or 3 rounds and sign someone like Tee Higgins or one of the best FA WRs available.
It's amazing to me that it's so hard for their receivers to get open and they don't have much for talent, that he threw for over 3,800 yards with 23 tds and only 3 ints. They tried to be a running team for most of the year though, so he really didn''t have much designed for him.
