The loss to Michigan saved your season

More like the $20 million NIL money.

Maintaining a roster to compete in college football can be costly, especially for top programs like Ohio State. If you’re here, you might be wondering: how much money did OSU spend on its national championship roster?

Here’s the answer. It’s reportedly $20 million.

According to Ross Dellinger of Yahoo! Sports, Ohio State’s athletic director, Ross Bjork, revealed in 2024 that the number from the university’s NIL collectives and brand affiliates was “around $20 million.” This appears to be an increase from the estimated $13 million figure that head coach Ryan Day shared at an NIL event in 2022.

At the time, Day mentioned that his estimate was based on conversations with recruits and their family members and factored in special rates for certain positions, like $2 million for top quarterbacks and $1 million for offensive tackles or pass rush specialists.

So how much NIL money on the Notre Dame roster.

Guessing there will never be anything like salary cap to level spending.

Some recruits may spark a bidding war.

If Justin Sayin is half as good as people claim, we are looking at a dynasty.

Whose that? New QB?

Yeah the top quarterback from 2024 class. Stole him from the hands of Alabama.

20 mil sounds very little considering the budgets of the top programs.

Ohio State athletics revenue is around 250m lol. Texas is around 240m. Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, LSU all over 200m. Of course almost all of that money probably comes from football.

Teams that dominated recruiting pre-NIL is also dominating now, but with money.

Power was out from 2am-right about 7pm today - I completely forgot the game was tonight! I've had my mind elsewhere...hope it's a good 2nd half and power stays on so I can enjoy it!

Probably only some kids are getting 7 or even 6-figure payouts.

But that will probably change.

The best 2 teams i saw this year was Oregon and Ohio State. When osu blew them out in the Rose Bowl, I knew it was game over for the field

Imagine if we didnt have playoffs, OSU wouldnt have a chance to show its dominance.
