Trade Big Ben for the Number One Pick

Post#1 » by el loco » Thu Apr 15, 2010 8:15 am

Yesterday Morning on Mike and Mike, it was reported from a local radio station in Pittsburgh that the Rams have offered their 1st in this years draft (1st overall pick) and their 1st in next years draft for Big Ben, should the Steelers make this trade if the offer is legit?

Gil Brandt on Sirius last night: "That's someone with a vivid imagination."

Peter King this morning: "I talked to officials on both teams and both teams openly laughed at it and mocked me for asking."

I texted a Rams beat writer and he sent me this back: "put the bong down dude"

Even the Mike and Mike guys said yesterday morning: "That ain't happening" But, you never know, there might have been some truth to it.

Question is what exactly would be "fair value" for a top 5 QB like this?
To quote GetSeven
With Jimmy at the 2 spot this lineup (along with depth) has the potential to be the best since the Jordan/Pippen days easy.

It never ceases to amaze me how little in the way of draft picks a good NFL player will fetch. Seeing what McNabb got, I'd expect Roethlisberger to be moved for #21, not #1.

Sometimes you have to take a step back in order to get yourself going forward.
