who's the top 5 qb's in the NFL

Post#1 » by DJ504 » Wed Jul 7, 2010 12:17 am

i really dont feel like arguing but i'll go brees because he's 6'0 and is like the modern day tom brady in the since of he takes anybody and still puts up great stats and has the best stats out of all Qb's since 2006 and for those who say he missed the playoffs twice, defense kept them out they were the highest scoring offense

Peyton: i wont even bother to make a case

Aaron Rodgers: i really cant take him serously because they had great recivers when farve was there and he was put in a great position and also has the #2 defense.

Philip Rivers: well he's just been outstanding

Brett Farve: 30td's 7ints and a strong team returning.

1:Drew Brees
2:Peyton Manning
3:Aaron Rodgers
4:Philip Rivers
5:Brett Farve

honorable mention Tom Brady why Matt Cassel you figure why

In order I would go for my top 4:
1. Brees
2. Peyton
3. Aaron Rodgers
4. Roethlisberger

The 5th is hard for me, it's a toss up between:
Rivers
Schaub
Brady
Favre
McNabb

Think I go with Rivers.

Roethlisberger at 4? Really?!!

It's more like:
1. Brees
2. Manning
3. Rivers
4. Rodgers
5. Schaub/Favre/Ryan

Manning
Brees
Brady
Roethlisberger

A toss-up between Schaub, Rivers, and Rodgers for the next spot. I don't think either of them has been exceptionally clutch.

I totally disagree. These guys teams are 100% dependent on their arms to win games. Aaron Rogers was amazing in his one playoff game this year. Rivers team might have made the super bowl if his kicker didnt blow it again. I think Big Ben is clearly the least reliable player out of the group (not including Shaub who I consider less that the rest of the guys listed).

How is Big Ben the least reliable in a game situation? How many Super Bowls do those other guys have again?

Considering the injury problems and the rape problems I sure as hell find him less reliable. Also he has bad games more often than Rivers or Rogers do despite having a reliable running game. Also dont give me that super bowl BS. He got out played by the other quarterback in both of his super bowl performances, and played like trash in the first one.

You cant argue that he go outplayed in the superbowls. He has WON 2 superbowls, which means he is very reliable. You flat out cant argue that. To get to the SB you must be reliable throughout the entire season and postseason, ask Peyton Manning. As far as the rape goes I am talking about on the field, like I stated previously. You say Big Ben had a solid running game, and he did, but I wouldnt say LT was a scrub.

1. Peyton Manning
2. Drew Brees
3. Tom Brady
4. Philip Rivers
5. Aaron Rodgers or Tony Romo, I can't decide

Manning HAS to be ahead of Brady for one big reason: Matt Cassel. That freaking stiff won 10 games with Brady's team. He wouldn't win 5 with Manning's considering all that Peyton does.

That's a fair criticism, but Manning has been mediocre in the postseason over the course of his career. For what it's worth, when asked who his personal top 5 QBs were, Aaron Rodgers put Brady #1 without hesitation. It was in the same interview in which he ripped that idiot-hack Kornheiser.

The postseason issues with Manning are legit and long-running, but I would still take him over Brady to win a playoff game.

IMO this year will be a great comparative test between the two, because both have their weakest surrounding teams in a long long time. The opposite is true of Romo vs. Rodgers--both have their best surrounding teams, save the O-lines.
