I never thought I would say this, but Jimmy Clausen deserved that contract more than Bradford does.

Well if anyone deserves that kind of guarantee it is a quarterback. Just not a rookie quarterback who has proven nothing. Give that guarantee to a prime manning/favre/brady but not a freaking rookie.

These rookie contracts are top priority for the new CBA. I imagine the pay scale will be coming down a bit from where it is now. I understand Bradford is a franchise caliber QB, but making that type of money without proving a thing is lunacy when a guy like Chris Johnson has to threaten a holdout to get more money (and he's still way underpaid by the way).

yeah thats just ridiculous. i think its time the NFL applies a rookie scale contract similar to the NBA. in the nba the big argument was that they didn't want high schoolers coming in the NBA and putting teams in a bind when they dont pan out. so they implemented the 1 year in college rule. in the nfl they require the player 3 years in college but then they come in and get a $50 million contract before they play a game?! man i really hope he pans out because st. louis can't really take another blow like this if he doesn't.

These rookie contracts are getting out of hand. The NFL really needs to address this, there's no way players that have never played a game in the league should be making 10 million plus a year.
