This is ridiculous. Sportscener just shut down everything they had planned.

They're treating it like he's been assassinated.

"at 11:01 in the morning of Tuesday the 3rd, Brett Favre has informed Minnesota that he is retiring."

Until opening day and he's not behind center, I don't believe him for a second.

I hope he just goes away. That way the last throw he's made for the three teams he's played for ended with a pick. It's fitting for the most overrated QB in NFL history not named Namath.

We've heard it from the horse's mouth twice and it hasn't happened. What would make you believe him the third time?

The thing is he can clearly still play. He had one of his best seasons ever last year. He is clearly still starting QB material and probly could be for a few more years. He should do it just so his records are pretty much set in stone. And winning another superbowl as a top quarterback can only add to his legacy.

As long as he can still play, he will wrestle with his decisions. When he can't, no one will want him and he will just retire for good.

Now he hasn't decided according to Ed Werder and will play if healthy. Shocker there.

he should retire. last year was his best shot. and i dont think he'll ever get that back again. and in actuality, despite the HATERs, he left on a positive note. took the team farther than many thought they would go. was extremely close to the big game. and really left everything . . . EVERYTHING out there on the field of play. and thats where you wanna leave it at. people look at the interception, but he was gettin TAGGED. he was gettin HAMMERED. NAILED. KILLED. throughout that game. i was surprised that he was still standing. so in my opinion, he gave everything, and did a great job. the problem in that game was a timeout and after a timeout . . . delay of game penalty?? thats horrendous. farvre should retire now, and leave on a positive note from what he had last year, a truly amazing season.

to come back? it will only get worse and go down hill. book it. i guarantee it.

thats becuase he's a risky thrower, unless your the saints or colts it would be a major improvement to add him to your team and everyone knows that
