Do does NY make playoffs w/o Revis?

The NYJ have a stout defense all around the board, but a lot of their game is predicated on Revis taking out one side of the field and w/o having to double cover the other team's best WR. So, if he were out for the season, I think their whole defense drops another level.
I mean, he is the team's best player. You take the best player off of any football team and at the very least he's going to cost them a few Ws. So, a 9 win team w/him becomes a 7 win team for example. A 7 win team is probably not winning the AFC East with Miami and NE knocking at the doorstep.
Thoughts?

You've been listenining to Mike and Mike too much. I think they're a playoff team regardless. I see one of the sides caving at some point. Possibly a revamped contract like CJ's until he signs a BIG one in a year or two.

Haven't listened to them much as of late, but it was a point of discussion on Miami sports radio actually.

I think they are definitely a playoff team. At worst i think they are a wild card team that will lose early in the playoffs. With Revis i see them winning their division and possible superbowl contenders.

the key is mark sanchez. not revis.
and just like he led them to 1 game before the superbowl. he will again lead them into the playoffs.

No..
It reminds me of when Champ got injured and you see the Broncos D falter.
I dont think the O and the rest of the D are good enough.

just because you have success the season before, does not guarantee you success the season after unless you are one of the better franchises in the NFL (i.e. Steelers, Pats, Cowboys). The Jets aren't there just yet.
They benefited from 2 teams resting their starters just to get into the post-season, but they did take advantage of that and made the best of it. But, still....

Jets had a much easier schedule last season, i dont see them making it this year, last year they lost both games to patriots and dolphins and still made it, that does not happen often

it'll hurt Revis more than the Jets, even w/o Revis they can start two good cornerbacks.

Disagree that it would hurt Revis more than the Jets. It's about equal. And there is a difference between starting two good corner backs and then being able to start one elite cornerback.

someone will step up to take his place. not going to be as good, but someone will be there to be a serviceable stop gap. with that said, i think that they will make the playoffs with or without him
