Will Mark Sanchez be a dominant NFL qb?
In my personal opinion, i feel that mark sanchez is one of the most overrated quarterbacks in the league i may be a dolphin fan but i try to stay as unbiased as possible when rating players
I watched the Jets throughout the majority of last season and throughout the current preseason, tonight he went 5-10 completing 12 yards against carolina!
I feel mark sanchez wont ever become a dominant qb in this league, his instinctive side does way too many amateur mistakes such as picking one passer for a game or overthrowing simple passes etc.
any opinions?

In his situation i think it'll be 3-5 years before he becomes a PB QB. He simply has too much talent around him to fail plus he's got all the physical tools. If he could've sat for 3-4 years like Aaron Rodgers before playing he'd be more prepared and game ready. He was terrible for a portion of the reg season but pulled it together in the playoffs which proves he's mature. Not many rookie QB's (including Henne) are thrown into the fire right away.

Personally I feel he's going to fail this year, last year they made it because of a very easy schedule, they lost both games to the dolphins and patriots and still made the playoffs, you have a very slim chance of making the playoffs with 4 division losses, this year with a little harder schedule I feel he won't have the same run

the kid is only in his 2 year in the league. he rarely played in college. the timing, experience and speed needs to be caught up. aaron rodgers had tons of time to get it. you wont find anything definitive during the preseason of his 2nd season.
the difference? whether sanchez or any other quarterback, is the reading and pre-reading of coverages. seeing and having the vision to see things open up before they open up. knowing tendencies defenses and dbs you have played against. make check-offs and audibilize. THIS ALL COMES WITH EXPERIENCE!
great talent, but does not have the experience yet to perform all those tasks.

your talking like hes the only rookie, Chad henne, who played for the first time last year, of the dolphins had no tools to throw it to, his leading receiver was Tedd Ginn, and he was able to beat the Jets twice who had arguably the best linemen in the league along with edwards cotchery thomas jones etc.

Don't know if he'll be an elite QB, but IMO he will be a very good NFL QB in time.

he should develop into a top 15 qb but i don't see him being able to carry a team on his own

I would have taken Devon Bess, Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams over Cotchery, Edwards and Thomas Jones anyday of the week last year....Lets be serious, while I like Henne a lot as a player, he had a crazy run game around him last year and it was the wildcat and the run game that beat the Jets, not Chad Henne....
I think Sanchez needs time, as a Jet fan, I still havent gauged him fully yet, he showed signs in the post season (against cindy and indy) two of the better pass defenses in the league while not having many offensive play makers. This year with the addion of Santonio Holmes and them opening the playbook for him a bit more, I expect him to do a bit more. Still though, I think the issue with him, is a rookie QB needs a safety blanket, and while Holmes is a good pickup, he is a far cry from Brandon Marshall (a big target), or a big time TE (because Keller is ok) and his checkdown mates (shonn green) isnt much of a catcher...
He will have his ups and downs this year but I think in due time he will be a solid QB....
THe Jets system doesnt call for a pass first gunslinger, neither does their personell....their personell is for smash mouth football...
Move Randle and we are chip ready !

^^^^ did you watch the games? i just looked up the stats, the Jets averaged more yards per carry than the dolphins did lol Chad Henne in the first game had 262 yards passing, Sanchez had 171, second game TEdd Ginn ran for two 100 yard kickoff returns which won the game
And btw Ronnie brown and Jason Ferguson was injured for the second game, and the dolphins still won

Do some of you actually see any talent, accuracy on the long ball, mobility in his legs or overall possibility of playing? Or are some of you just drinkin the HATERade. Please, the dude just needs the experience, period. He has all of the tools, mobility and accuracy on the long ball just to name a couple. If you stop playing with "shaker" weights, (without actually having any weights in your hands), you would be able to assess ability and talent, without using the bias and prejudice into the equation.

Re: Will Mark Sanchez be a dominant NFL qb?
too early to really make a good prediction. maybe after his sophomore season well have a good feel. As of right now he had a fairly decent rookie season. he has the tools and i think he definitely has the potential to be a great quarterback in this league. but dominant in the way manning, brees, or brady are dominant, i say no. I think he can be a pro bowl quarterback and put up the stats and wins but i don't think he will be an elite football player if that's your definition of dominant.
as of right now, Jets are coming into the season with one of the best defenses in the league. On Offense Sanchez is surrounded with talent from the O line to the running backs and to the recievers. This team is going to run the ball 1st. All Sanchez has to do is limit his mistakes and make the smart positive plays. His advantage is that he doesn't have to be dominant and carry and this team.
